NW Zedders Meet - Sunday 23rd August - Fylde Coast
NW Zedders Meet - Sunday 23rd August - Fylde Coast
As promised back in March I've finally got my act together and have a plan for the next NW meet:
I've arranged that we can meet up at Woodmans BMW at 11am. They have agreed to have a new z4 on show for us to have a good look around and take photographs of alongside our NW zeds. We have the z4 for an hour. After this I'll lead you on a short cruise around the Fylde coast that will take in the Golden Mile and Blackpool tower - another opportunity for some pics. We'll end up at this pub The Villa where we can get some lunch.
Ok then, who's in?
Confirmed
myredzed - Red 2.8 z3 roadster (+1, staying for Sunday lunch)
snoops - Green 2.8 z3 roadster (+1, staying for Sunday lunch)
jonttt - Silver ///M z3 roadster (staying for Sunday lunch)
tufarlian - Silver 3.0 z3 roadster (staying for Sunday lunch)
RobT - Silver 1.9 z3 roadster (staying for Sunday lunch)
jollyassassin - Sienna Red 2.2 z3 roadster (+1, staying for Sunday lunch)
Interested

This is the same weekend as the next big Tatton Classic Car show, so I will have to see what's happening for that - I will likely be on the AH stand again. It's a two day job, so I might forgo the Sunday in favour of a this. Damn, my arms are going to be sore with polishing.
Put me down as interested, please.
Cheers R.

I don't know, you go on holiday and just leave it for the women to sort everything out... you just pick up the suitcase and wonder what all the fuss is aboutTitan wrote: I'm sorry Snoops but I don't believe your sorrow or apology to be genuine
However, should it rain during your visit to Europe, take solace in the fact that we recycled it for you
Order changed......
Happy now
Now that would be an attractive sight wouldn't it... oh well better than walking out of the loo dragging half a roll on my shoes.... not that I've ever done that mindTitan wrote:That shouldn't be a problem - she can dry off with all the bog rolls hidden in the front bumperJonttt wrote:No but Snoops has to keep her roof down no matter what
Just be careful too..... my order could be amended again !!
Looking forward to seeing everyone...distinct lack of Z4's is there not typical misery guts. Seeing as we'll be pootling through Wrea Green, here's some irrelevant trivia:
As Ian knows...I'm from Wrea Green & remember The Villa when it was a private house. Went to the village school with the boy who lived there, he ripped my mac playing British Bulldog and my dad went round to "have words".
Freddie "Parrot Face" Davies filmed his childrens TV show, "The Small World of Samuel Tweet" in Wrea Green. It was about a pet shop. Filmed in a cottage by the church. Some of the kids in my class with pets, featured. I wasn't allowed pets
"Two in Clover" with Sid James & Victor Spinetti also filmed a stint in Wrea Green. I recall a cricket scene being filmed on the Green with Freddie Trueman playing himself. He dropped some money out of his pocket which I gave him back. He kept it, the tight Yorkshire.........
I propose we do some donuts on the Green Ian anyone who doesn't, gets thrown in the Dub I'm going to look like the poor relation I think, got a nasty front bumper scuff.

Its not the "elders" who'd be shocked but the younger, newbie, in-commers!myredzed wrote:The village elders would be in a state of shock for years
At the Millenium there was a big do in the village...invitation only. Lots of noses were put out of joint. People whose families have lived in the village for generations , were passed over in favour of "solicitors from Manchester", I think they were called at the time.
Or WAG's from Blackpool, who've made good.
In other words, people with a bit of spare cash, who've heard Wrea Green's a bit posh, is "the" place to live. They come in, throw their weight around, find that there's a lot of old money in the village and that they haven't really got a pot to p*** in by comparison, cause chaos, then they leave.
Do I sound bitter? I've had a long day...just got back from Essex.
I suppose it means something to someone lol, People are so very very strange don't you think?
By the way my Nana used to live in a tiny cottage in Pilling, typical roses round the door etc and I was Christened in the church there that was very odd because I was 12yrs old at the time lmao...Garstang is lovely from how I remember it....20 yrs ago lol

famous for its new potatoes, I always buy Pilling spudscalbens wrote:Pilling
full of Barry Boys now! They use the A6 as a racetrack. Been some spectacular crashes outside our house. Once a Corsa lost it, wrote off a neighbours Merc, shunted another neighbours Z3 25 yards up the road before flipping onto his roof. Horrible, the Z3 was a write offcalbens wrote:Garstang is lovely

Okay, you can count me in, myredzed.
I've not heard back from the AH guy about my pass, so if he does eventually get back to me, I will just do the Sat and come to Blackpool on Sunday.
Sounds like it will be good fun and I have to keep the silver numbers up.
If I can't move my arms, it'll be because I've polished them off!
Cheers R.

Thanks Snoops & Jonttt.
It is so sad and sooo unexpected, I think its going to take a long time for the team to get over it, we have to work so closely together and he was so good at keeping us laughing to get us through what can a times be a harrowing job.
As they say only the good die young and they certainly took one of the best!
Your right Jonttt, there are going to be plenty more NW meets coming up that I can get to join in with

-UPDATE-
Sunday's weather is looking promising, let's hope it stays dry for us!
I've booked a table at The Villa for us all but to get one the right size I really need to know whether you're coming along on your own or with a passenger so....
...for those that have confirmed, could you let me know whether you're staying for lunch and, if so, whether you're coming alone or bringing a passenger. It would also be useful if you could pm me with your mobile no in the event of traffic delays etc.
FYI The Villa are currently offering a Sunday lunch main course at £9.50. Not the cheapest in the NW but the food is top notch (well it was the last time I ate there!)
