Bump

Keep your meal orders coming in please, got 7 so far.

Had one cancel so its taken the pressure off having a sixth leader, but if anyone feels up for it more leaders would be better.

Update...

Please hold fire with your menu choices. I will be getting the menu expanded, and may split the groups between 2 lunch venues, since we have 63 people. Bear with me while I do some planning. This cruise has grown arms and legs and is taking some organising.

I am on the verge of closing entry so if you want to come be very quick.

Will that be the Whitby Fish "n" Chips flavour?.

Right, the plan now is to split the groups. We will all meet at the start, am, pm and end stops, but lunch will be in two venues.

Two wings will be going to Whitby. That will be 14 cars total and 20 to 25 people.

Three wings will take lunch in Ainthorpe at the pub linked in the lead post.

There will be a fast, medium and slow group going to Ainthorpe.

There will be a medium and slow group going to Whitby.

I will be visting the pub on Sunday 28th to sort the menu options and try a few different routes. I will then need everyone to let me know what speed group and lunch venue they prefer, and food order. If you are flexible and would be happy to go to either venue that would be good and will allow me to balance the numbers.

There is no need to pm me this week. Get back to me after 28th after I post further details.

Entry to the cruise is now closed. We have 35 cars! Im getting excited :D

Deano,

I am also happy to go in either group or either lunch venue. Its all new to me being my first cruise so won't make any difference.

After another 200-mile recce today the routes are finally sorted phew :D

Please pm me your food choices (if you want lunch at Ainthorpe). If you want to go to Whitby let me know that too, and you just order your fish and chips on the day. I want 14 cars to Whitby and the remainder to go to Ainthorpe.

You will see on the lead post that I have split attendees up into the 5x groups. I want the groups finalising by next weekend (3rd).

If you have already ordered food there is no need to tell me again. Note the menu choice is now slightly different:

Starters:
Leek and Potato Soup
Chicken Skewer
Crab and Prawn Salad
Black Pudding, Apple Chutney

Mains:
Beef Lasagne
Steak Pie
Salmon and Herb Crust
Creamy garlic mushroom with spinach in puff pastry pie
Chicken Rogan Josh, Basmati rice and Popadom
Deep fried haddock in crispy batter

If anyone needs to cancel let me know soonest since I have two more cars waiting on the reserve list.

Can't believe you have never been to Whitby Canman being a Yorkshireman, what about Scarborough it's a nice 30 minute drive from Whitby. I usually go to Whitby in the morning and then drive down to Scarborough after a fish & chip lunch it's a nice day out with the family you should try it sometime.

been to Scarbrough quite a few times, guess heartbeat and that hospital programme , the royal i think it was , put me off Whitby , thinking it was a bit to oldy worldy. i never take the Zed to Cleethorpes or Skegness the locals are only used to saxo's and corsa's. even my peugeot 206 looked posh there :D

never been to Mablethorpe either

I will be sending out instructions to everyone via e mail over the weekend.

saltcoatsbhoy, barbie-princess08 - I have no e mail so you wont be getting the instructions unless you let me have an address.

I still need food orders from the following:

Freezed, PORTMYSTER, Aquaboy007, Nick Dale, Zamezee, NorwegianBlue, w4kins, barbie-princess08

I will be phoning the order through on Tuesday so if you dont let me know you will have to take your chances ordering on the day.

Thanks to those who have provided an order.

If anyone wants to cancel please say so since I have a few cars wanting to join us.

Well done Deano! Now can I start polishing?

For all you in-comers you will be pleased to hear that there are no fixed speed cameras in North Yorkshire, in spite of all the warning signs. (Not that anyone would ever dream of exceeding the limit I'm sure!).

However, N. Yorks police do like their un-marked police cars. Towards the east coast I have seen cars pulled up by an old Vectra and Volvo V70 estate (both dark blue) and a silver Imprezza.

Looking forward to a great day - fingers crossed for roof-down weather!

Bridge toll (yes I'm a spoil sport :D) but is important people bring correct change else we will cause a traffic jam.

You will need change if parking in Whitby as well. I think its £20 for an hour (joking :D )

Its a good point to raise - parking will be £3 in Whitby.

Im going to pay for all of the cars in my group over the bridge so we can get though quickly. Perhaps other leaders can do the same?
