Hi Rob - all done I've added you to the Ferrybridge list.

I better call in Costa over the weekend to make sure that they have extra staff on for when we all arrive. :D'

Ferrybridge to Wetherby

Post by Zed Carer »

Unfortunately I haven't got Sat-Nav but the proposed route from Ferybridge to Wetherby is quite straightforward and there is a convenient place towards the end to re-group if necessary before Wetherby. I'll have some details printed for the day.

If you put the following into Multi Map you should get the route:

WF110AF (Start point - Ferrybridge Services)
via
Fairburn WF11 9
via
Newthorpe LS25 6
via
Coldhill Lane LS25 3
via
Collier Lane LS25 3
via
Aberford LS25 3

Sandbeck Lane LS22 5 (End point - closest I could get to Wetherby Services)

Ignore the timing from Multi Map - just say that the test runs in the Z4 were a bit quicker

Hi ZC - can you swap me over from Ferrybridge to Boroughbridge please. I'm meeting Seasurfer en route so we roll into town together....

2 non silver zeds to show a bit of strength before we get overpowered with the silver surfing brigade :D

Have to see if we can find a Costa en route if the coffee at BB is so bad !!

I wasn't put off by the thoughts of Zippy getting filthy on the back roads from Ferrybridge ..... honestly 8-)

OK just this once - I will have to think about introducing an admin charge for any further amendments - or perhaps an excess baggage charge for overweight handbags

As far as dirty (the roads aren't that bad) Z3's go our neighbour's son runs a mobile detailing business so I have a plan

and as far as handbags go I have no passenger so I think that qualifies me to bring the largest handbag I have and fill it with all the useful rubbish I usually carry around with me (just in case). :)

Just had a look at the CITP site at the type/number of cars attending.

Looks like we will be the largest group by some margin - 43 BMW/Roadster registered of which we currently make up 35 of those :o Should turn a few heads when we convoy in to the venue.

Nearest in number at Newby are the TVR guys/gals.

Fingers crossed for the weather 8-)

Believe me the TVR's will be the biggest group by far, they always leave registering until the day before in case rain is forecast as there cars leak like sieves.

XCWeather and Windguru are really good sites, and we find the most acurate forcasting is two days beforehand, and even then it can be out a bit :)
We depend on wind for our business and we have had some very strange weather patterns over the last 2 months, and virtually windless :( not happy.

Hope everyone is doing a sundance at every opportunity :D

It's OK Snoops - an emergency therapy session cured my overwhelming sense of rejection. :?'

The therapy was digging out two old (over 15 yrs) hebe bushes including the roots so I also got two zillion brownie points for working in the garden all day between the showers and the hailstones

Silver Z's in the middle with the other colours encircling them to protect them from the TVR's, VX220's, etc - wouldn't want a Silver Zed getting damaged by some rogue car would we

The other colours could retreat to the rear when the photos are being taken

Off hand I can think of two people who just might not see the sense in the above suggestion

Bit slow there, been trying to sort my Ipod out all afternoon :(

I think the sensible thing to do is to have the nice coloured cars in the middle to show all the variety then split up allllllllll the silver ones into 2 groups and you can flank either side of the colours.

ZC you can be the 1st silver zed on one side and Titan you can be 1st silver car on the other... now how does that sound, I think it sounds marvellous :D plus we get to split you 2 up !!!!

Thanks Snoops - having taken it apart twice in the last 6 months I'm coming to the conclusion that the real problem is in the wiring. This time it finally turned out to be an intermittent connection in the fuse on the rear of the unit. However the unit will be 11 years old in July so I probably need to look at doing something even if that is just getting a spare unit. My OCD is that apart from the brakes that I changed last year the car is still original - even the wheels so I am resisting updating the headunit even though Mrs ZC has told me to go out and buy one.

Have you any thoughts on how much you would want for yours :?:'

I have no idea what it's worth (its a Pioneer), it was in the car when I got it but I put a new head unit in about 5 years ago so I could use my Ipod in the car so it's been sat there since.

I'll bring it with me and if you want it we'll sort something out, I'll bring it back home if you don't want it.. how's that sound :)
