Aug 22 (Sun) - BMWCCGB national meeting, Gaydon, Warwicks
From the entrance head straight on until you can't go any further, then turn right and head for Z circle which will take about 40 cars. Overflow will go into Z runout area.

As Nero said, Im an honoury Scot for the day, but of course I'll take audiences from selected members of the Anglo Saxon community. However Sarah is ALWAYS welcome as is Larri, (dunno about their hubbies tho'! )
For those who don't know, the Motor Museum is open and free to those attending. If it rains, and I'm assured it will, then its entrance first for oldies! Gouttatheway!
How about next year, a visit to the Aston Martin factory which is in Gaydon, I might even order a DB9 Volante! They're actually offering DISCOUNT of up to £5,000!!!!! to order now.

Even if the voices aren't real, they have some pretty good ideas

I was there with the Exige on the SELOC stand, (the nutters converting a standard E30 320 from road car to one for our race series (only thing we couldn't do was fit the cage (that's a days job on it's own)) nice weather, too hot in fact and nice to see a few faces I haven't seen for a while.

Great pictures Simon and Robin.
At least I did manage to sneak into one of Simons pictures or my back did!
Im just sorry that I could not spend as much time as I had hoped with the Z's, due to judging the Concours. I did manage to cadge a ride in Nemisis though for a brief blast. Nice one Giles thanks for that.
A great day, not that I saw much of the show.

Gaydon 2004
A BIG thanks!!!!! to All who contributed to the Gaydon Festival.Looking at the returning drivers faces , the drive outs seem to have been enjoyed and made the day, more interesting.Feed back is welcome if we are to improve anything, for next year.
Apologies for the lack of our promised Z Circle display area, Gaydon logistics prob.
Plans for 2005 are already being formulated , with driving activities of differant types and skills to be possible , and competitions.
We have 12 months to improve the content and organization for the day, comments are welcome.

Frustratingly we had two sets of problems with marshalling at the front gate and then further down, and at least 15 Zeds were directed into ordinary car parking--which meant they were unable to participate in the drive-outs.garyw wrote:How many Zeds turned up in the end?
Nevertheless I counted 40 in the Z area at its peak with a few others (e.g. Nero, TonyCal) in Regional Areas. That's not counting the M Roadsters and M Coupes that preferred to park in the M Power area.
If we had managed to get all the Zeds and M derivatives together it would have been around the 80 mark.

Tony it's a case of identity crisis + I just don't know my place in the tribalistic pecking order
No seriously though, I got lumbered with being sent to park in the main carpark initially. Then when I walked to the display area I thought, no damn it, I want to park here but I couldn't find the Z bit as it moved from last year.
I just happened to say to Jeff who I'd never met before, "Could I park next to them as they are Z's aren't they" he said fine. I returned with my car & mentioning Jeff's name got me past the the guys on the gate so I parked next to his Coupe. Then half an hour later I chanced upon the main Z parking area so moved mine to there as you will see from the row of Z's pic. What a palaver. What do I have to do for next year. Join the club or something ?
