Royal Wedding Weekend
Royal Wedding Weekend
Thanks to Bill for organising a great cruise, top roads and good company
I joined at Colne and did the stint through the dales and across to Kendal.
Some pics:
Line up at Colne:
Plenty of Union Jacks on show throughout the day
Great route chosen by billz
Obvious photo opportunity
Guess where?
...and an arty farty shot to finish (got some grief when I laid on the grass to take this!!)

Hi Everyone,
Although a short drive for me, it was really nice to catch up with some of you again and meet new members and their cars. The weather was superb for zedding. After leaving the group i stopped a couple of times on the Bowness/Newby Bridge road and took a few pics on my way home.
A Big thank you to Taffzee, b***y hell, i could hardly lift the box of buttons out of my boot, they will last me 2 years
Dont know if the handycam worked, will have to wait till hubby gets home, will let you know later and if successful, we could use it for newby.

Lots of MTM's cousins too

Looking at all the sheepies, I bet MTM was cruising at about 5mph having a good ogle, so I am sure you only reached 10mph.
I am surprised at Yocky though

Quite a well known landmark round there. Sedbergh road is good fun if it's quiet. I've been down there on a pushbike before today as well!myredzed wrote:Spot on as always Rob
Where was the railway line shot? I thought it looked like Old School Rd, near Beck Foot, but you would have to have been going the other way.
The golf course in the background of some of the shots is Bowness pitch'n'putt. Another place I know quite well.
Cheers R.

Ribblehead viaduct. Seems quite popular judging by the number of cars that were there when we arrived.Robert T wrote: Where was the railway line shot? I thought it looked like Old School Rd, near Beck Foot, but you would have to have been going the other way.

Viaduct is might impressive, but not the viaduct - I meant the one two shots before with the national speed limit sign in it.myredzed wrote:Ribblehead viaduct. Seems quite popular judging by the number of cars that were there when we arrived.

But even though I wasn't there, I know it well from my days as a Highwayman
It's the A65 heading north west just outside Long Preston.
Lovely piece of road if it's quiet.
The railway, canal, river and road all meander together.
Sadly most of the time it's overrun with trucks and tourists
