No pubs but plenty of cafes, never drunk so much tea and coffee on a meet
There are more pictures to come but myself and Gill are the only ones home, everyone else is still up there..

I cannot take any credit for the pictures my co-pilot was juggling 2 cameras
but you could have pointed your camera in any direction on that run for amazing pictures.
I was thinking maybe we should plan a run later in the year with a B & B stopover and get as many as we can, there was only 1 woman who got a bit miffed waiting for us to pass by the time Robert got to her, maybe we could meet her again with 10+ Zeds
.
Maybe we could get the EAC to venture out

Just to echo Brian's comments, we've just got home at 7:30 after a brilliant weekend, both Pauline and I enjoyed it immensely
Thanks to snoops and Bill for the route and everybody else for making it a great cruise. We had a good impromptu cruise on Sunday with Brilie and Zed Carer, which was also a great top down day in fact the top didn't go up at all, even on the M6 on the way home. Thanks Brian for the directions to the petrol shop in Kendal - exactly right
Great driving roads, great weather, great company - what more could you want out of a weekend? Thanks everybody.
Pics to follow tomorrow - too tired tonight
Dave & Pauline

Finally arrived back about 7:30 after an absolutely stunning weekend thanks to the people we shared it with, the roads, the weather, the scenery and the stars of the weekend - the Zeds who took everything in their stride. Our final start to finish mileage was 449 - still to work out how much fuel!
I'm relieved that the route worked out well and want to say thanks to Doris for supplying the Sat-Nav information and to Gill for sweeties. Nice to share the weekend with both old friends and new members who we're sure to meet up with again! I'll try and stay awake to sort out some photos (mainly of today) as I didn't take many yesterday as I was concentrating on the driving but even so I manged to miss one turn so everyone got a practice 3-point turn on one of Cumbria's narrow roads!

Sorted out a few photos but can't seem to find the ones of Gill wearing her hat but might have another look tomorow!!!!
06:45 Sat dried off and basking in the sun awaiting pilot and co-pilot:
At Brambles Cafe (highly recommended) after coming over Hardknott and Wrynose - Snoops managed to get a private parking spot so nobody could park next to Zippy.
Enroute to Honister Pass on Sunday - discussions in progress about where best to park for photographs!
The co-pilot photographers staged a sit-in so the pilots had to get out, clamber up the bank and take the photographs:
Back on the road towards Honister:
A gentle start to Honister Pass just to lull you into a false sense of ease:
Zeds resting in the sunshine before the final ascent:
Now we can start to see where the road is going:
View from the car park at the cafe at the top of Honister Pass:
Last stop of the day and (fortunately) the Zeds did fit when going over the narrow bridge - couldn't see the sides as the bonnet was way up in the air!
Final discussions on what routes people were taking to get home and directions to a petrol station:
A thoroughly great weekend - just need to fix a date for Hardknott, Wrynose, Kirkstone (OId and New) and Honister Re-visited Part Two!

Fantastic day out, thank you all. Really enjoyed it. Just got home 8.30 this evening, after a mere 250 miles round trip, but then I only popped into Kendal today. Will get some photos up later, though I've not many as I could only take piccies when we were stationary.
Cheers R.

Great to see the pictures from Sunday - that road looks awesome too.
I think the "laughing" picture in Brambles cafe sums up the whole trip for me... and what's that on the table - oh pots of tea
Bill you will have to let me have the route you did on Sunday - is it a doable trip with what we did Saturday or too much for 1 day ?? would probably have to cut down on the tea stops I would imagine ?

I'll look at the route we did on Sunday and see how it could be combined with the Saturday run in a way that would make it doable in one day and send you an email. Might not be for a few days as I'm currently finalising the route planning for our Scottish road trip.

Thanks for the photos. What a great drive. Am curious about the sticker on the window of the Zd in the first photo (looks like a kiwi on ski's). Maybe my imagination. What beautiful countryside and likewise the cars.
Must have been a fantastic get together judging by the smiles and scenes. Cheers All

They are great roads to drive as long as there isn't a lot of traffic but the Forgotten Highway from Stratford to Taumarunui that we did last year as part of our NZ odyssey was also a great drive - pity we weren't in the Zed!

I guess it does a bit. It's actually Snoopy of Peanuts fame. The car belongs to
snoops on here.
