Highlander II - 5/6/7th May 2006 - Now Full

Post by Jules75 »

After the huge success of Highlander, Nero, MissieDriver, Yogi and Jules75 are very proud to annouce the provisional details for Highlander II - The Hunt for Nessie!

Based on the feedback we had from Highlander, we've made Highlander II a three day event. The format of the weekend will be as follows:

Day 1 - Friday 5th May
Day one will be our main drive up north towards the west Highlands. Departure will be from Luss on the shores of the stunning Loch Lomond. We then head north taking in sights such as Glen Coe, Fort William, Ben Nevis and beaches of the north west coast.

Our 250 mile journey will end in Ullapool, which will be our base for the next two nights. In the evening, there will be dinner & drinks followed by some fun and games.

Day 2 - Saturday 6th May
After the big drive of Friday, Saturday will be very much a more relaxed day. Starting at 11am there will be a 150 mile round trip over some simply stunning Higland roads. The roads take us along the west coast of Scotland and up into the mountains for some great views. There are some amazing golden beaches on the route and we hope to organise a picnic stop at one of them - and of course we will have a backup plan in case PVR is doing one of his rain dances.

Our short trip should see us back at the hotel for around 3.30pm. Plenty of time to relax and explore before the nights activities, which we hope will include a Highland Ceilidh.

We are making the schedule of Saturday very much felaxed, and both the drive and night activities are optional. If you want to do your own thing then that's cool. We hope you will join us though!

Day 3 - Sunday 7th May
Another long drive back to Luss. Departing mid morning our route this time will take us down towards Inverness and along the famous Loch Ness. We will be stopping at Castle Urquhart so there will be plenty of time for Nessie spotting. Then it's down to Spean Brige, Aberfeldy and into the Trossachs. If the weather is good to us, we will drive the famous Dukes Pass - what a treat!!

We should then finish at Luss around 5pm.

What Next?

Fantastic stuff glad you guys are going to come along!  should be a really good laugh and great fun if the last one is anything to go by :D

Lots of fantastic driving with some great scenery and the option to hang out with us mottley crew in the evenings and take part in some silly party games with just as silly prizes as last year (that included the likes of fluffy dice and chavtastic neon lights for the car !!)

Might give it a bash. Will it be around the time of Lakes 06 (if there is one planned)?

Just joined your site - unfortunately 3 days after I booked a short break up near Fort William in the few days before Day 1. So....on Day 1, I'll be heading south towards Loch Lomond!!! I'll give you guys a wave as I pass, though.

What time you likely to be leaving Luss? And in case I can squeeze in another night, where are you staying on the first night?

Oops just noticed - Ullapool.

If anyone is travelling up to Scotland and needs a stop off point in Yorkshire (near the port of Hull for European travellers), then let me know what your plans are and we'll see if we can help.

The Highlander Team has produced a Welcome Pack containing all sorts of useful information about the weekend. It includes information on meet points, schedules, catering arrangements, and safety. It is important that you get your copy!

You should get your copy of the Welcome Pack sometime in the next few hours in your Inbox (the e-mail address you supplied during registration). If for some reason you don't get your copy of the Welcome Pack in your Inbox, please check your SPAM / Junk folder as it may have accidently been moved there by your mail system.

If for some reason you just can find it in your Inbox, fear not. Just send an e-mail to z4um.highlander@yahoo.co.uk and we'll sort it out for you!

Looking forward to Highlander II? About to burst with excitement? Tell us all about it on the Highlander II Chit Chat thread: http://www.z4um.com/viewtopic.php?t=14098

See you all very soon! :D
