Prodrive 28th December

Post by garyw »

This event is being ran again by John at Prodrive near Warwick, the last event was great fun and whilst normaly the event doesn't put any excessive wear on the car (hard days drive ) the event earlier in the year did incur a higher than normal failure rate
From John;

Using your own car the day will consist of:

1. High speed circuit (a fast and furious 1.5m). To test both you and your vehicle to the limit.

2. Adverse handling circuit (a tight and twisty 1m). Designed to show control of under / over steer on the limit.

3. Two low friction areas(skid-pan, one straight and one circular). Demonstrates the cars and your own response to complete loss of control.

4. ERT braking area. Demonstrates emergency reactions, ABS braking and stability systems.

5. Autotest.

All disciplines will be under professional instruction in a safe controlled environment.

There will be two sessions on each activity, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, allowing plenty of time for you to enjoy, without being too hard on the car.

Refreshments, lunch and facilities will be provided.

You are more than welcome to bring a guest. They will have a good view of the skid-pan from the hospitality unit.

The cost for this event is £205:00 +vat per car
Guest using the same car £30 +vat
Non-driving guest £10 +vat

Email your interest to john@drivetrain.uk.com

times last year were from 9.00am until approx 3-4pm

I'd be up for this, as I missed the last one. unfortunately this is going to be one of my busiest weeks of the year.

Maybe next time.

Bloke, I have a day at Milbrook coming up soon- which is the number 1 venue for this type of thing, I'm still thinking about it though as I've already done it once.

DavidM, your in the area, so maybe worth the trip anyhow ??

Jay, were all at Donnington the day after, so pop along also..

Me and RED won't be doing it coz we did it earlier this year.

If you go, you won't regret it.
It's fun and very educational.

It's much more than 'just' a track day in terms of driver training.

Best bit for me (and most people I think) was the skin pan.
'How to completely loose control and regain it again at slow and safe speeds.' Although it still felt like you were inside a washing machine. I'd hate to think what it's like at normal speeds.

And it looks like they've now got a circular skin pan aswell, which would be even more fun!

Go and enjoy, it's well worth it.

WTF is a skin pan - is it a kitchen implement for Hannibal Lector?
