North Yorkshire Moors
North Yorkshire Moors
One of the great things about working shifts is having days off in the week, on the other hand getting weekends off to join the odd zroadster cruise is a nightmare.
Anyway spent the day on the North Yorks Moors - virtually traffic free (most of the holiday makers have headed home )
Sun shone all day - only saw a couple of Z's, both on the B1248 at Bainton, an 'R' atlanta blue (hood up ) and no wave on the way up this morning and a black (top down) with a wave this evening on the way home.
Me thinks a connection there - top down means a wave, hood up unlikely?
Best bit of the day? Open roads, glorious weather, superb scenery.......
Nope........my in-laws, both 78 years of age, are staying with us at the moment so I took them out for a quick run in the Z before we went out.
To see the look of glee in my father in laws eyes, then listening to the mother in law 'screaming like a girl' as we sort of 'trundled' around and the excitement in their voices as they compared 'notes' at home afterwards made my day

I too took advantage of the fantastic weather and Zeeeeed over to Yorkshire today. It was so exhilarating driving on the "A" roads, roof down, wind blowing through my hair!!!
I only saw two other Zs . I waved to another Silver one on the way out of Blackpool, no wave back. Then a Blue one near Burnley and got a very strange look but no wave, they BOTH had their roofs down .

Best bit of this......
I then wondered if that would be me in 20yrs time
My dad loved Zippy and quite often said "eeeee love this is a nice car". My mum hadn't ever been in him until recently when I dropped her off at Bingo unfortunately I had to get out to help her out, her knees are not what they were but she enjoyed the wind in her hair.gelertd1 wrote:Best bit of the day? Given the great forecast for this week I'm hoping to make the Evo triangle and Snowdonia on Thursday with hopefully holiday free traffic as the kids will be back at schoolsnoops wrote: I then wondered if that would be me in 10yrs time

That will depend on whether you play Bingosnoops wrote:I then wondered if that would be me in 20yrs time
Well that's another nice mess I've gotten into!
I didn't actually say the photo was in Yorkshire or Lancashire. I said I'd been to Yorkshire, in fact I went to Slaithwaite which is definitely in Yorkshire and was on my way towards Saddleworth when I took the piccy. Whether it was in or out of Yorkshire isn't relevant really unless as a "man" I got totally confused as to my whereabouts
Anyway this Yorkshire lass born and bred in Lancashire loved every minute of the day !
Thanks Rob for your confirmation of which gender I belong to

But you said it in reply to a thread about a day on the Yorkshire Moorsjustgilly wrote:I didn't actually say the photo was in Yorkshire or Lancashire. I said I'd been to Yorkshire
And you included a photo having described the A roads of Yorkshire
And now your trying to wriggle out of it
And naturally we aren't going to let you off that easily
And you got us so confused, I even mistook your gender - apologies again
(PS - I still think it's the A59 at Blubberhouses )

I realise Titan is being pedantic, but then a great drive over to Yorkshire had to involve travelling from Lancashire and back to Lancashire .
At which point I actually crossed the border ,whether it was before or after I took the photo doesn't really change the fact that I enjoyed my drive on "A" roads to and from Yorkshire...
Of course Titan can think it's Blubberhouses if he wants to , in which case it would be YORKSHIRE!!!!
