ZM...terrible plate!!

Post by MZ3RK »

Just got back from the gym andthere was a rather nice Blue ZM in the car park...only problem was the poor effort of PLAYA as the number plate!!

Why ruin such a nice car! :shake: apologies if your on here!

Don't think he'll be too upset, we gave him some grief (with humour) at the lakes last year... and now know why he's got the plate....

I noticed your silver Z last night. I have seen it there a couple of times.

Thanks for the nice comments re: the car, and no, i am not worried about the plate...bought the plate years ago and just kept it.

Did your Z have angel eyes?

Come say hello next time you see me at the gym. :D

How about you designing one just incase top man says no?
Lets get the ball rolling and the design could be put to a poll.

Yep, had mine since December 04, so 15 months now. But i have previouly had a 97 1.9 Z3 auto in atlanta blue which i had for a few years.

I don't have angel eyes on mine, in fact the car is pretty much standard apart from the av stuff.

You more than likely have seen me at the gym as i am there usually Mon, Wed, Thur, Fri and maybe sundays if i dont go playing squash. I think thats the 3rd time i have seen your car there. You will not always see mine though as i am usually undercover in my scruffy old Polo.

I don't think you'll need to wait for the summer though for some decent top down driving. I am probably taking my hard top off this weekend and will start getting the roof down about now. Heated seats and nice warm blowers on ya.. The hard top will be off until November-ish, i reckon we get a good 9 months of weather for the Z.

O cool, I may get some angel eyes at some point, they look nice. Definitly going to purchase a hardtop, makes all the diifference in the winter and gives it a new look. Won't bother though til after summer now.

Yeah i'm there all week too, although I have no other car to allow to be scruffed in that gravely car park :?

Yeah i've already had the hood down and the heated seats cooking me!! It was nice weather the first weekend I got it (last week) and I was down south in Windsor, it had to be done!!! 8-) Love the sound of the exhaust, humming the straight 6, don't think i've heard the stereo yet!!:D

this weekend consisted of making her my own and giving her a good polish, vac, leather clean...the full works!! Feels better now! Bet the M is a big improvement on the 1.9?

The 1.9 was an auto so it was a different kind of drive, more of a cruiser. I got rid of it when it hit 103,000 miles and was getting a few niggly problems (roof, brakes need doing, lots of small things mounting up). I then had a 325i Convertible for a year but missed the Z. Moving up to an ///M is real big difference on a standard Z. They need a lot of TLC and can only really be opened up when the engine is hot enough. Its all worth it though. The characteristics of my ///M change when the car is at the right temperature, engine noise and exhaust tone sound the dogs.

Just trying to think now out of all the regulars at the gym, who is there nearly everyday. :!:

hood down

Post by mez3 »

Nice one tags, it's good to hear you have the hard top off for most of the year, we do the same and the top goes down when ever it's dry no matter how cold it is. With the heated seats it's actually better going out for a thrash in the winter round the country lanes where we live as you don't get your head burnt like you do in the summer.(i am short of hair!!)

I am a little more hardcore than that, been in BMW convertibles now for 10yrs+. I like the hot weather, i like the cold, i like the night, nighttime with the top down, great. I only have this hard top because i have never had a convertible with a hard top before. It does give the ///M a different look for the winter, but its a pain in the a$$ to store through summer. Can't wait though, its coming off this weekend. I was gutted today, it was a great day for getting the top down, and i couldn't.

Would this gym be "Spindles" near Friday's on Palatine Road?

I think I've seen your blue M a few times recently (I come off Princess Parkway & drive through Northenden to get home in the evenings). Nice motor! I'm in a silver 3.0 so I'll honk or wave next time I see u :D

Exactly why I woulnd't have a hardtop, for me if I fancy it, the roof comes down as long as theres a speck of sun, couldn't agree more to nighttime roof down, its great, especially in the summer when its just as lovely at night as it is in the day :D

hoist

Post by mez3 »

Get yourself a hoist for the garage ceiling. You can take your hardtop off in 2 minutes on your own and you can leave it up there when your out with the top down.It solves all the problems of storing the hard top.
