Z4 M" 07 plate
Z4 M" 07 plate
I have posted some pics on the Gallery for all to see.
Just bought it last Wednesday. Love it over the standard Z's, just no comparison really..
Can anyone tell me how to remotely CLOSE the soft top with the keys?
I can open it with holding the open button but that's it...
Thanks

Thanks for that, think your probably right, I have tried everythingjonttt wrote:Nice one
I don't think you can remote close as standard on the Z4. Zedcarer gave us a demo on his Z4 of the remote close and I told my brother how to do it on his ///M but we could not get it to close.
I think you need the remote module fitting to get it to close
Too right you do, Alnwick area is fabulous!trottski wrote:I live in the best part of the country for country roads, quiet and miles and miles of bends. "Northumberland"....muppet wrote:Nice ///M, but get it on a road with some bends
Congrats on the lovely car too.

The M is back at the dealers. Read more
Pictures will be posted once I get the car back from the BMW dealer! Yes ,the car had to go back... Read more.
I took delivery of my 3200 mile Z4 M last Wednesday from Eastern BMW in Edinburgh.
2 days later on Friday last, I decided to take off all the wheels for detailing purposes. This is when I noticed both nearside wheels were damages. Both alloys had server flat spots "buckling" to the inside rims, clearly this car had hit a pot hole in my opinion.
On further inspection I noticed a small hole in the nearside back box, probably the size of a 5 pence piece, big enough to concern me for the future possible deteriation of the box.
Anyways, after feeling very disappointed and let down by the dealers, I also checked the tires pressures, guess what they were all showing 1.3 BAR and not the required 2.1 BAR minimum. Can you believe that you can pick up your performance car from a main dealer with potentially deadly under inflated tires.
The dealers yesterday had my car picked up onto a trailer and off it went back. Today they have assured me that it will be undergoing their laser alignment and all the above will be dealt with.
I will post an update soon once I'm in the know..

In view of your dealer's less than honest delivery it wouldn't hurt to nail down the exact manufacturing and registration dates.
A lot of Z4 ///M's sat on dealer forecourts for some time. There have been one or two cases of people turning up for warranty work, only to find a discrepancy between manufacturing and subsequent registration and change of ownership dates. The result was a rather nasty bill, when they expected the work to be carried out under warranty.

So much for their comprehensive "approved used warranty" checks pre delivery. I bet they never even had the car on a ramp to check it
After they have resolved the problems I would complain to the principle of the dealership in writing (phone up and ask for his name). Don't ask for anything just inform him how disappointed you are in the clearly dangerous condition a performance car was presented to you on purchase. Ask if he would be so kind as to review their records of what has happened and comment. Copy the letter to BMW UK Customer services and clearly mark the letter at the bottom a cc. BMW UK customer services.
In my experience this is the best way to get them to acknowledge a less than acceptable standard of service and offer compensation(this is what each dealership is judged on and they will bend over backwards to stop you complaining to BMw if they know they have done wrong). In the past I have bee offered free services via this route
To be fair as with any large organisation mistakes do happen but in my experience if you handle it in the correct way they will be fair to you and offer some compensation.

I have spoken to BMW customer services today, and they are advising me all the way. The garage in question is bending over backwards at the minuite and I'm expecting some sort of apology at the end, hopefully in the form of a letter or better still a freebie of good will.jonttt wrote:So much for their comprehensive "approved used warranty" checks pre delivery. Lets just see what turns out and I will keep you all informed as to the outcome. Other than that I'm looking forward to getting the car back. After all I'm missing the drive..
Its not quite "Middle" Left though..c_w wrote:Looks nice. One thing I don't like about the rear of the Z4M (inc coupe) is the seemingly random placing of the M badge - just looks wrong in the middle left

The roof does not close as standard by holding the key, health and safety reasons apparently. BMW dealers will tell you it can't be done, but you can get it programmed by an Indy.
Best bet us to buy the remote module on Z4forum, and you can close or open the roof with 3 clicks of the fob. They are easy to install and means you don't need to stand by the car holding the button like a c*ck, if you are going to do that you may as well put the key in the door and stand waiting for the roof to close.
I press my fob 3 times, and walk away, leaving the module to do it's bit. I too wasted money on the Indy programming, so that's why I know. Also, this way, you can walk up to the car, press 3 times and the roof opens while you load the boot and/or just get in.

Z3 2.8 Progress Journal (Mine)
Z3 1.9 Sport Progress Journal (Wifey's)
I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

Maybe it's to balance and maintain symmetry of the random placing of the boot lock, or do you not mind that?

It's not that I mind that but that's not stuck on afterwards - there's not a lot you can do with it but it would have been better incorporated into the BMW badge!
I don't think any M car in history has had the badge on the left, even the "italicised" slant of the badge is best suited to the right IMO!

YES, I sold that one with 3 days of placing it up on Pistonheads. I have a new Z4M now in Ruby Black and guess what? I now have to sell this one because of an imminent house sale and need the money to pay the Stamp Duty.Jonttt wrote:Steven, you need to double check post dates, this one is a few years old and I'm sure th car was sold on quite a while ago

trottski,
Sorry your having to sell. That's a cracking example and I am amazed how much your selling it for compared to the price as new and with so few miles on the clock.
My Toyota MR2 is up for sale £2650 ovno Pics/details available
I waited for 2 years to get this car. It's 'stunning' and I've had the car 'machine polished' to eliminate all swirls and imperfections. Looks a million dollars.stevenb wrote:I should have omitted last sentence then.Jonttt wrote:Steven, you need to double check post dates, this one is a few years old and I'm sure th car was sold on quite a while ago

But, had an offer on my business and now have had my offer to buy another house accepted. So, need to find the STAMP DUTY money and the car really should go. Shame, as gutted but the tax man needs his cash and I cant put this through the mortgage either, just doesn't work like that.

Thank you. Yes, Im very confused at the moment. I need 11.4k for the stamp and a whole lot more on a quick refurb of this house.Badman gee wrote:such a beautiful car,
you must be heartbroken to part with that.
its an excellent buy for a 3 year plus car.
if i didn't have my z3m id be knocking on your door.
What is better, the house or the M? I cant justify having the car when I need to spend money on this house.
Sad but necessary.

I know it would and for the first time I will have a double garage to put it in
