I have a 2009 Z4M 62k mls, the radiator coolant has never been changed, is it necessary to change/flush the system from time to time?
Thanks

Re: Coolant
I don't know what your handbook says but my 1998 z3 one talks about changing it every three years. However, my wife's 2010 BMW Mini uses the same, inky-blue antifreeze and the service regime is now to leave it in indefinitely unless it discolours. My daily driver Audi uses pink and that gets left indefinitely as does similar pink in newer Toyotas and Citroens. Confused? Not surprised, seems to be a constantly moving goalpost
If it were me I would consider a change now as it is a high performance M engine which generates a lot of heat.

Re: Coolant
The new car service manual specifies that the coolant should be renewed after every 3 years for the ///M and 4 years for Z3. This is a notation in the Service 1 part of the book where it also states that the coolant level should be checked at service level 1.
As preventative maintenance it is a good idea to replace the water pump [based on miles done]. It is an easy job and the part is inexpensive.
Cheers,
