Z4M Roadster in Car Magazine

Post by Jules75 »

As with Evo this month, the BMW Z4M features in Car magazine this month.
It's the rematch of the century: BMW's new Z4-base M Roadster takes on the incredible Porsche Boxster S.
The BMW's straight six sings and incredible vibrato of intake and exhaust noside that makes grown men weep.
Even if the M Roadster produced half as much power as it does it would still be the best car in the Z4 range.
So equiped and shorn of its stiff-walled runflats, the Z4 starts to flow: motorways are no longer traversed in pogo leaps and bumpy B-roads become the payground they ought to be.
There's less understeer to contend with in slower corners, a slicker gearchange and brakes that inspire greater confidence.
M Roadster's batttery has been moved to the boot. Which wouldn't be so bad if it was tucked away in the corder in hidden in the floor, but it's not. It's exactly where you would want to put a suitcase.
The Boxster, though, is a cut-price exotic. A little slower, perhaps, but more exciting, more involving and more accomplished.
History won't record the M Roadster as M's finest hour but it's still a very fine car.
