Just a quick hello

Post by dennisedlin »

Added a Z3 to the household fleet on Wednesday. She really belongs to my better half but I'll be the one bringing her back to her best.

This site has already been useful to me as I resolve a few niggles.

The car is a 99 2.8 Auto in Arctic Silver with a Rec Leather interior.....my wife loves the heated seats :)

The passenger door is being repainted on Monday; it's had a very poor smart repair. The central locking actuator needs replacing (already ordered) and the wheels need a refurb.

But she's in generally good condition, the engine runs very well and we are very pleased with the performance

I've a few pictures from the ad.....just need to find out how to upload them

Welcome to the forum Dennis

You can find instruction show to upload pictures HERE

You basically need to get your pictures "hosted" on a site such as photobucket and copy/paste the img link code on your post and the picture will show

Thanks for the warm welcome; I've ordered a replacement set of wheels (BMW star spoke 17's) for winter...the schnitzers will be refurbed.

The air freshener is long gone :) Burton only smells of brewing beer....its a lovely aroma.

Silver with red is the best......blue with cream runs it close though

Looks great Dennis, I've always loved those Schnitzer wheels :D

The boot rack is removable and the holes are "filled" with black rubber grommets. I'm sure you could find/make a colour coded "grommet" solution so you have the best of both worlds

Sounds familiar - my BMW 5 spokes are currently in for a refurb and when they're done I'll swap them with my ACS for the winter and the ACS will get a refurb too. I didn't fancy exposing the polished rims to road salt hence the swap.

Looking forward to new pics when you're ready

Welcome Dennis, I have a 2.8 auto also with boot rack. Absolutely essential if touring. My rack is on the other way round. Makes it easier when strapping the bag to the rack. It doesn't slide off before they are fixed.

Can't see why some complain about a right and wrong way.

Anyway, the 2.8 is a joy to drive and unless driven on the ragged edge is very handable.

Peter.
