Newbie with benefits :-)

Post by clacedogg »

Afternoon,

As of the 8th January, I became the very proud owner of Zhana! She is a 2002 Z3 2.2 Sport in Black. Beautiful inside and out and a lovely purr when she accelerates.

Within 5 hours of owning her, I managed to crack the rear windscreen because I wanted the roof down at 4 degrees.......yes I know and I agree with you..... :dunce:

But, she is back to full health now and I am eagerly awaiting the spring when I can enjoy her a bit more.

Possibly plan to get her remapped this year, just to give her a little more oomph, but I am more than happy with her!!

As for benefits, I may be able to help with discounts for the forum as I work for a well known specialist insurance broker. But I am here to gain more knowledge and have found that forums like this are great for people like me. (Refer back to rear windscreen...)

Look forward to talking to you.

Hi Chris,

Welcome to the forum. Don't worry about the rear screen, a lot on here have done the same (surprised I'm not amongst them as yet!). Keep taking it down in the cold, just let the car warm up inside for a bit first!

Oh, and we need pictures! :D

No problem will get the photos uploaded when I get home, she is an absolute beauty.

My first soft top other than a "removable" top I had on a Freelander ES, safely say that never came off!!!

I have even started walking to work in order to make less unnecssary journeys! Especially with fuel the price it is!

Regards

Hello and welcome to the forum. Nice looking zed, but then again all zeds are reguardless of size or colour, but have to admit silver is the better colour, not that i am biased.

Certainly see a lot drive past the A4. I've always loved the shape so I just bit the bullet and got one! Always nice to see a fellow enthusiast, especially in your home town!

If it's the office I'm thinking of (stones throw from Waitrose?) then it's a good spot to be watching cars!

Rang up before Christmas for a quote but unfortunately the chap I spoke to couldn't get within £200 of my lowest price. Being < 30 and driving a powerful sports car does seem to limit the number of decent renewal prices that you get!

Anyway will hopefully spot you out and about before long :D

Thats the one!!

Well there's always next year, I managed mine for £680 <30 (25) on drive in RG18 postcode. Business use and 4yrs Protected.

I'll just wave at every one that goes past, eventually I'll get it right!

Whcih insurance broker are you affiliated with? I'm insured through Adrian Flux and due a renewal in the coming months. My car is fully declared with various modifications so there's few companies that'll touch me, despite having a clean licence and several years NCB.

EDIT: Apologies  ... Welcome to the boards, great car with a lovely interior!

Ok I'm not touting for business but I'm at A-Plan in Thatcham, I can cover modifications like for like. Rather than post on here I'll PM you.

Apologies if this breaks conduct I'll delete the post!

And thanks for the welcome too!

Hi clacedogg and welcome to the forum :wave

I too love that black 'n red interior - not that I'm biased
It's a shame about the black exterior though - not that I'm biased :D
The 2.2 is a lovely engine - some would even say the best sounding of the straight 6s
I of course have to agree - not that I'm in any way biased.....

Congratulations on getting the top down straight away
Although I'm sorry it cost you a rear screen  you obviously have the right attitude
The most important thing is that you enjoy your Z

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Is Thatcham a particularly rough neighbourhood? Just wondered if the use the yoof for testing car alarms...

Zed looks great, but I'd get the roof fixed asap - when there's rays of sunshine like in your pics, it should be firmly in the down position. :D

I'm only teasing. Looks fab. Enjoy!

Cheers R.

Thanks for the lovely welcome, yes the roof is fixed now!

The part of Thatcham I live in has an average age of 85, goodness me they keep me up coming back from Bingo at 7:45 on a Tuesday evening.... :)

Black is the ONLY colour and the chrome grilles make her look beautiful!!

Will be taking her to a few shows this year too. Would be rude not to!
