New comer from NL

Post by ZZZ »

Hi,

Just got a Z3, normally I am a Jeep guy ( v8 40inch tires...) due to my current job I moved to Amsterdam and no offroad here... I was looking for a nice weekend car and I fell inlove with her.

It is 1999 widebody with 1.8 engine ( my Prius is fasterr...) just has 108.000km.... First Owner was a BMW guy so he made some nice cosmetic modifications....

As there is nothing I can do to her, my plan is to barter her with a 2.0L one :)

Possibly I will have millions of questions, as I am totally alien to Bmw....

Hi - welcome from me too, nice tidy zed you have there.

Welcome to Top Down Motoring - it is compulsory unless it is raining :D

I'm afraid someone will be along shortly to tell you to remove the ///M badge - it seems to strike a chord with some members :? but it's your car so it's up to you :D

Thanks :)

I am ok to remove it but I have it in the steering wheel, shift knob, middle consol..... Why BMW people like M sign that much :D

It rains a lot here also..... Need to remove the carpets and put drain plugs... ( old Jeeper habit :D )

Hi and welcome to the forum.

///M logo and steering wheel and gear knob are standard fitments. The one on your rear is not.

Looks a nice tidy car. Enjoy. :)

Cheers R.

Looks a nice car, best colour :D

Someone has retrofitted an ///M centre console to it and has added an extra switch, you will only have either ASC or DSC so it seems that if the ASC is working fine then thats the correct one. The DSC switch is just there to fill in the hole instead of having a blanking plate.

thanks,

I also think like the color is very nice!

Unfortunately the engine is M43/TU I checked from the BMW VIN decoder that I found in the form and it really does not feel like 140hp but I guess it is 1.9L... That M Centre Console is the most beautiful part of the car. I am not sure if it is from 3 series M3 or M Z3 but If I get another Z3 I would find a way to fit that....
