With just two more races to go, who do you think will be top dog?

HT

Brazilian Grand Prix
Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

BBC Sports

FIVE-WAY BATTLE

1 ALONSO 231pts
2 WEBBER 220pts
3 HAMILTON 210pts
4 VETTEL 206pts
5 BUTTON 189pts

If Alonso wins in Brazil, he will be champion unless Webber is higher than fourth.

If Alonso is second, he will be champion unless Webber is higher than eighth, Hamilton higher than fourth or Vettel wins.

If Alonso is third, he will be champion unless Webber finishes in the top 10, Hamilton in the top four and Vettel in the top three.

If Alonso does not finish on the podium, it will go to Abu Dhabi.

Button can only stay in contention if he finishes first or second but is out if Alonso finishes in the top six or if Webber is in the top two.

Vettel must beat Alonso on track to stay in contention.

Alonso.

I'd rather Lewis won, but that's what I see happening and I wouldn't begrudge him if it happened.

Max, you just made me spit my drink all over my keyboard!!!!!!!!!

I would prefer if Webber clinched it, if Hamilton doesn't, compared to the Spaniard.

Really? Do you think Webber has actually driven well enough this season to deserve it?

Think back to Melbourne where he drove Hamilton off the track one and then crashed into the back of him.

Or when he walloped into the back of poor Kovalinan and flipped out.

EDIT - I forgot when he idiotically took out Lewis in Singapore. I just don't like the guy...

Vettel is the same, taking out Button in Spa for no good reason and his team mate... let's not go back there, but suffice to say I don't feel either RB drivers have driven a good enough season to warrent a WDC.

Alonso has kept his nose clean and kept out of trouble and ever since he's moved from McLaren where the only way he could show his annoyance at the way Ron Dennis was favouring the new boy was to get in Lewis's way, I've not thought he's too bad a bloke.

He never had a problem with Lewis, but it was the only way he could be heard. The only real issue this season was his team getting Massa to move out of the way... personally I consider the RB5's flexible front wing far more of a "cheat" than the team orders.

I wish there was another way, but under the circumstances I've picked Alonso.

So unplug your keyboard and stick it in a cold bath of water, then let it dry out on a radiator or something. Sorted ;)

Can not really argue with that argument.

By the way, the keyboard is Bluetooth, so 0.001 minutes in the microwave sorted it out.

Alonso has been the best driver this season, don't like him but he's the worthy winner.

Hamilton has a real chance, think its between him and Alonso really.

Webber has not driven that well, but there's two races yet to prove he's a worthy champion

After Webber had to give up his new nose section to Vettel, and then went out and won the race anyway (Silverstone wasn't it?), I thought now, that's my kind of race car driver. Reminds me of the likes of Mansell and Jones. So I hope the Aussie comes through...
But, I have to say, it's Alonso's to loose....

I think it's still wide open between Alonso, Webber and Hamilton. Red Bull have the fastest car, Lewis is the best racer and Alonso is the steady eddie IMO. I'm hoping that Webber and Alonso take each other out at Brazil and that Lewis comes through although I suspect that Vettel will come along and spoil that scenario. It would be fitting if it went to the last race.

Gut feeling - Webber will be this year's world champ with Alonso and Lewis a very close 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Gut feeling - the one with the most points will win :P
Gut instinct - that may not necessarily be the most deserving

I think Webber might take it and Hamilton second. Is that possible :?:

F1 Quote of the day- Brazilian GP

Post by Hard Top »

BBC
McLaren's Jenson Button: "I'm here to race for myself thank you very much. Yeah, I can do something different.
I can't tell you what tyre we are starting on.
It is a fun race, you can overtake and there is a headwind that should make things interesting.
I'm looking forward to the challenge out there."

Good drive by Button, but it was obvious before the race that he was out of contention for the WDC, mores the pity.

Image

And then there were 4.

1 Spain F Alonso Ferrari 246
2 Australia M Webber Red Bull 238
3 Germany S Vettel Red Bull 231
4 Great Britain L Hamilton McLaren 222

It was good to see Nico Hulkenberg on pole for Williams but I was worried, before the race, that he would get in the way after the start.
I was surprised that the driver that had the biggest problem with this, was Hamilton. :!:
I thought that Hulkenberg did well though.
8 Germany N Hulkenberg Williams

As did Rosberg and Schumacher.
6 Germany N Rosberg Mercedes
7 Germany M Schumacher Mercedes

Felt sorry for Barrichello and Massa.

The constructors' title has been done and dusted today, but at least the WDC goes to the last race of the season.
Can't wait. :D

Because they are Vettle's favorite colours, and Webber was over ruled, as his favorite colour is pink.

Yes, I do too, as he is desperately trying to copy Bernie Ecclestone but he cant get the right finger out.

Yea, his finger stinks after he's satisfied Christian Horn(y)er and Adrian Newey...

From 5 down to 4, and an increasingly slim chance it'll return to Lewis. To be honest, especially with a wildcard in the pack ("The Hulk") I'd hoped for more yesterday.

Why did Mclaren waited so long before to remove Lewis from the back of Hülkenberg car? He was losing a second every lap compare to Alonso :puzzle: :head:
I think the team, because of that decision, got Lewis of the driver championship :bad
