Looks a good price. Wonder what the front damage was.

I'd give my left ball joint for it.

In that case, my Topaz Blue 2.8 with brand new tyres and Z4 wheels is available (89,000 miles) £3,800 :)

I have given it more than a passing thought. If that was near me I would be viewing it. :)

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm :)

It is hard to tell but the interior shot looks as if there is an AC switch, the open bonnet shot shows no AC condenser or AC fan! The PAS cooling line looks to have a slight bend also. If you go to look maybe something to look for?

Still looks lovely though.

Looking at the engine bay shot, shouldn't the metal lattice work infront of the radiator be black? it is on mine. I would hazard a guess the front end has been replaced, front end shunt maybe :?

If its been fixed to a good standard you'd have nothing to worry about... It's a barging at 5.5-6k

Personally I would pay a little extra for a straight car

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Z3-3-2-Ro ... 20cb2bef76

Worth it in the long run, I always think bent cars are never quite the same but would need to know what damage was done.

Loads of cars get shunted and not recorded so your average hpi check won't pick that up. Least the seller is being honest so worth a phone call to see exactly what's been done. Just a little observation though it's missing a plastic trim piece where the bonnet latch drops in to the slam panel :!: if I viewed I'd check for ripples or creases where the bumper shocks bolt to just gives an idea if the impact was very hard.

Always worth a viewing at the price, provided you like the colour.

Is it registered on V-car (cat c/d)? If not then worth a shot at the money - loads of cars have had small knocks here and there and unless you buy from new you probably never find out.

My only concern buying cheap M's is why would anyone want to sell one cheap when they're so collectable nowadays? I think any half decent example should fetch £8k +

Loads of cars get shunted, repaired to a good or bad standard but I reckon 90% of the time you can tell a car has been repaired. The problem is unless the repair has been documented with photo's etc I wouldn't go on the word of the seller. Would a repaired car put me off even if cheap, yes it would. With this M as I pointed out earlier its not really that much cheaper than a straight mint car, so why bother? with the increased problem of trying to shift it come resale time.

I find it strange that people buy cars that have had welds repaired,
diff supports replaced and reinforced.
but not a car thats possibly had a slight donk and the previous
was not happy with repair and had it sorted properly :?

The people that change interiors is a concern it hides the wear
where do you stop pulling a car apart before buying

If you want a mint car buy a new one

These cars are old.. And most have had a knock, panels replaced, panels resprayed, boot floors repaired, engine parts replaced..

Buying a well repaired sight damaged zed wouldn't bother me at all.. They are mostly bolt on parts anyway..

If upon viewing this M was in good condition, well documented and drove well I wouldn't hesitate to part with 5.5-6k

It's a great deal for a low miler..

Very true - a strange world when a Zed that has had the boot floor chopped up and extra stuff welded in is seen as more desirable, yet we get twitchy about a bit of external damage, when most of the car is bolt-on bolt-off stuff!

A few popped boot spot welds or a cracked diff bracket is different to a car thats had a shunt in my book. The fact the Z3 has easy on off bolt on panels makes a cosmetic repair easier which can hide a multitude of sins.

If I was looking at 2 Ms side by side with similar mileage, one at £5500 with accident repair and the other at 7K with no accident damage, whats a little extra to get the better car? You pays your money and takes your choice. For me bumper damage is just about acceptable but replacement panels isn't

We still don't know if it's had a proper crash or a little knock - ie was it written-off? If the chassis was damaged it would be written-off for sure, if it's had a low speed bump and damaged external parts it's likely no different to any other 12-15 yo car.

Neither do we know if Badman actually went to view it.

Updates please :head:

Not me, it did get me interested though. I started the original post in the hope someone on the forum could get a possible bargain.
