Hello all,
Now the new year is here, what are people plans for their cars?
Modify, sell, upgrade?
I think this could be an interesting thread.
Mark

To try and find more bits to improve my old Z ! buy another sports car Z4 or Boxster ! ( never did spend the money from when i sold my Harley ) get my other 1969 Harley running again ,Get the wife to drive on la continent and generally try to have more time with my family
I know you wanted more about the Z3 but the only real plan is to keep it running

Re: Plans for 2013
Plans for the New Year might be to use it more. Only did about 1500 miles in it last year since the Alpina has taken centre stage since we got it.
Sapphire black/Imola red and black interior/ red roof/ S54 - the only RHD one made.

Re: Plans for 2013
Sadly this year the Z3 will probably be going, once the spring comes
I've already test driven a Mazda 3 MPS (pretty quick), an Alfa Mito but swaying still towards a new Suzuki Swift Sport.
Nearly came to selling the Z3 last year but couldn't quite do as still enjoy it but its 2 seats and small boot are becoming a PITA
At least will still have a Zed
Tim.

Re: Plans for 2013
I've had my wee zed for one year now, first thing is MOT this month so hoping I don't get any surprises there.
I have tried to persevere with the OEM business radio/tape/Cd stacker and replaced the speakers last year to try and improve sound quality / volume but didn't work. So I now have a nice new pioneer cd / iPod /Bluetooth /USB head unit to fit that will improve the sounds - will do this as soon as the ISO adapter arrives
I have been putting up with a small water leak from the radiator but will have to bite the bullet and change rad soon - one of these things that is not that bad but on the to do list so must do!
Done the rear top mounts last year which stopped the banging from the rear and improved handling slightly but I'm still not happy with the zeds skittishness from the rear over uneven roads / bad surfaces on cornering - I'm not sure whether this is standard ride for a 97 zed or whether this can be improved ??? Any views / ideas - I don't really want to be throwing too much money at springs / shocks to find little improvement??
Finally I'm going to use it more, last years rain was a real pita for getting zedding driving opportunities so hoping to get a lot more use this year

I had the 1.5 glx back in 2005 and ended up using it more than MINI Cooper S which I also had.Badman gee wrote:the swift sport is a cracking car.TitanTim wrote:Sadly this year the Z3 will probably be going, once the spring comes

Re: Plans for 2013
My plans are to drive the car a bit more in 2013.
As for mods planned, funds permitting:
Upgraded speakers
New bonnet and partial or full respray
New exhausts
Various engine related mods ongoing now - CAI, new cooling system.
Engine instrumentation - additional aux gauges or a LCD display
New engine tune
I will run a couple of cruises too in Yorkshire and maybe Derbyshire or Lincs for a change.
