Memory Lane anyone?
Memory Lane anyone?
So...... who remembers?:
1 The silver 'holographic' car stickers you could get, that changed colour in different angles? I had 'Avenger' on my boot.
2 The red reflective lenses with the car model imprinted, that fitted onto the boot between the rear lights...?
3 Sheepskin-look headrests that fitted over the backs of the front seats...
4 Sparkrite electronic ignition?
5 Raydyot stick-on heated rear windows?
6 Cibie Oscars anyone?
7 Leaf spring extenders to 'higher' the car and show off the Jag rear axle?
8 Sidepipes?
9 Square numberplates with the chrome front bumper middle section removed?
10 Rear aftermarket fog lights wired to the brake lights?
11 Electric aerials?
12 Graphic equaliser/boosters?
13 Aftermarket centre consoles?
14 Plastic fins that fit to wipers and press them onto the screen.?

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

Can you remember the gifts you were able to get by simply buying fuel, you got tokens and then exchanged them for gifts.

Esso (I think) did something called "Instant Insanity"Fender2004 wrote:Can you remember the gifts you were able to get by simply buying fuel, you got tokens and then exchanged them for gifts.
It was a simple predecessor of Rubik's cube comprising 5 dice with different coloured tiddlywinks on each face.
IIRC you had to get one of each colour along each side if you set them in line - and the opposite ends had to different as well!
Some would say it had no effect on me, others would argue I've never been the same since

I remember Mag-Caps, wheel trims to try and fool everyone that you had Alloy wheels. Then they were dropped double quick because eveyone extracted the urine from those that fitted them. But of course now they are standard and expected on budget and lower spec. cars. As they say, "What goes around comes around."
Bonzo.

Re: Memory Lane anyone?
In the days when seatbelts were fixed, you could get extensions for the toggle switches on your mini, because you couldnt reach them when wearing your seatbelt.
I also remember those extensions for your rear leaf springs. With them on,you couldnt see the car behind you, only sky, and your front light beams were reduced to shining 2 feet in front of you. Halfords was much more interesting in those days.
