Let us hope that his legacy will carry on.

It is an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. But if needs be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die.

I for one salute him.

I have no doubt it will live on....but the meaning will be lost, abused by the politicians, the press and the priests.

Just catching some of the proceedings on the media (one of the distractions of working from home) and all I can see is a sea of brollies.

....hasn't stopped blattering since around 6pm yesterday !!!! Talk about raining on one's parade....Must admire the crowds though, they will suffer anything to say "I was there"....

Must say, I've heard a few comments / speeches on the coverage, and some of the drivel people will spout is quite extraordinary too....

Deaf people did phone the BBC to complain that his "sign language" was rubbish. Watched a plane taking off today as part of the on-going ceremonials and the weather looked a bit better for top down Z driving.

It was a great day for top down Z'ing...perhaps a tad too hot...but it came down in buckets later this evening again for a few hours... Quite typical of summer weather here... Late afternoon / evening rain for a few hours, then it clears up for 24 hours and so on...
Yes, finally going to bury the guy...the event has been hijacked by the ANC here and made into a promotion campaign for the elections next year... self glorification of their political ambitions... already making statements like " Making the ANC stronger was always a wish of Nelson Mandela" etc etc... slimy politicians... I guess that's what they're about mostly... more interested in their own careers than good governance.
