Fuel prices tumbling in the UK thanks to those very nice people in Saudi Arabia not cutting production. A nice early Christmas present for motorists

It is nice to see the prices coming down....... pity it's a "quiet" oil war going on between the US and the Arabs....... Saudi is seriously P'd off that the US is becoming a nett producer vs importer... the shale oil fracking is bringing in bbpd... Also, it's putting the squeeze on the Isis guys who have been selling black market oil to finance their operations. In fact, the US is currently reviewing their ban on oil sales, which is really scaring the Saudis... they would certainly lose western customers if the US start selling on the open market.
Anyhow.... we can enjoy it while it lasts..... I reckon by mid year 2015 it'll be back up again...so no cheap summer motoring for you guys....

I was caught out in Chester yesterday. Had some Shell loyalty vouchers (only £7.00) but thought I'd treat the car to some V Power rather than its usual Tesco's Super unleaded.

Saw a Shell petrol station advertising normal unleaded at £117.9 per litre, thought that's not bad, I'll fill up with V Power. I didn't realise until I'd put around 30 litres in that the V Power was £133.9

It's my own stupid fault - I should have checked rather than just assuming all its fuel was keenly priced.

I was in a right mood for the rest of the day
