Fond farewell from me...

Postby Dave'z3 » Fri 08 Jun, 2012 00:00

Hey all,

After a very unlucky start followed by a feeling of extreme unreliability, I've now parted ways. She is keeping the engine and I got everything else in the split...(amused me...) I needed something more reliable and cheaper to run. As my girlfriend Maria is going to start driving soon, we decided to get a car together to make it cheaper still. After A LOT of research and searching on my part we landed on a VW Scirocco (I landed a few years ago but needed hard facts to back it up).

Stats/pictures:

59 Plate
Manual 6 speed
18000 miles
Salsa Red
1.4tsi 160bhp
Satnav/DVD/iPod
Cruise control
Adaptive Chassis Control
MDI
Auto Lights
Rain Sensors
Computer

A massive thank you to all the people that I've spoken to or had the pleasure of meeting in person. When it all hit the fan you all supported me through it. This was the first forum that I was really active in and after my experience here it is now my automatic first port of call.

I'm sure I'll still be checking this forum, but thought I would let you all know :)
Best of luck with all your endeavours and thanks again!

Dave and Maria.

All the best with the new car. These new 'Roccos are well built and the 1.4 TSI engine is a brilliant powerplant considering its output and economy. VW built a cracking lump there.

Good luck

Sorry to see you leave Dave, you certainly didn't have the easiest time with your zed so who can blame you. The Rocco looks nice, I'm sure as a daily driver it will fill it's purpose well

I think they are cracking looking cars and remind me of the Z Coupe.

The top picture is narrowed on my laptop and looks like it is sneaking out of the bushes!

Don't be a stranger :wave .

Thanks for all the comments,

You guys really have been great, the sense of community on this forum has really added to the experience of owning a zed. I'm sure that one day I'll be back, but it will be with one that isn't used as an every day driver!

Best of luck and thanks again :)

Dave, good luck to you and Maria in the future, such a shame you had problems with your Zed. I remember you both coming to my cruise the day after buying your Zed. :drive

I also recall being in Gran Canaria when when you offered to do my signature picture for me via email, as you can see I'm still using it.

All the best.
