Looks in a right state. :(

Back end has been HORRIFICALLY modified.

What the hell kinda wheels are those too?

Its almost as if owner was ashamed of it, or with its echos of KITT would rather have had a Pontiac Trans AM.

This is at the Indy that I now use......Apparantly the owner died and his widow wanted to sell 'The Damn Thing'.

The Indy didnt know what to offer  so he will restore the car and then sell it. "Parts are a fortune" he informed me :)

Any thoughts on value????

Value?? Wow!

Guess at £15k. After a good clean up and removal of body kit, resoration of rear BMW badges etc...

Pristine examples still probably command price tags of circa £25-40k easy

But really don't know. Spokey may have an idea about value.

The Indy has seen one in pristine condition for 350,000 Euro

Easily £70k

The biggest problem at the moment is getting new injectors

The problem with one that is that unloved is that it's going to cost thousands and thousands to commission again. I was looking at an Alpina B9 which was in that sort of state. It would have cost me 3 grand to buy and about 10 grand to get on the road again. I can only imagine that this is going to cost the best part of 20 grand to get back on the road again.

Where is your indy? I haven't remortgaged in a while... :head:

If he's going to restore it, he'd better get it under cover. It's missing a window !!
I'll give him £10000 to store it in my garage or maybe in the lounge or even the bedroom.
I reckon you should find a new Indy if he's servicing BMWs and doesn't know what an M1 is worth.

Probably just the ///M1 - doubt many people who will be buying it, will remember the original :D

Should be an interesting car! Have you driven the 1? I've driven the 120d, and its a good car... although pretty dull overall.

i think bmw have been reported as saying that the M version of the 1 series wont be called the M1 as it is the name of the afforementioned classic, instead it will be called the 1 series sport.

Anyone seriously interested in unusual BMWs should check out this guy. He frequently has a couple of M1, 850s, Z1, etc for sale. Not cheap though.
