Unfortunately, I had to return the plates when putting the car into garage for the winter...and we can not deposit the plates untill the next season...that's why I ordered a personalized plate for this and all seasons to come...they can deposit a personalized plate over winter...and yes, my next roadster in a few years to come will be the four...M four hopefully.
But that doesn't mean the Z3 is about to leave...oh, hell no...this baby stays.

It's a 2,2 litre sport. It is the best compromise P/P for me - well at least in our country...if I went for 3,0 litre the registration, insurance, etc. would cost me the same as an M or a Ferrari...but in 2,2 litre I fall one class lower...that means at least 1000€/per year saved...I am sure that doesn't sound much to you guys, but the awerage salary in Slovenia is around 800€ netto...BimBeema wrote:Lovely photos! lovely car! is that a 3.0 litre sport or a 2.2 litre sport?
Not to mention that I prefer cruising to speeding...and 170 bhp is more than enough for me...

Well, the most beautifull locations aren't revealed yet...will do in future. These photos were taken during weekend aways or during our little Zed group tours (not more than 8 cars, mostly 4).Robert T wrote:Very nice Austin. Very nice indeedy! Cleaning presents no problem. I use BMW cleaning stuff (basically branded Sonax stuff) - cleaner, impregnation and lots of water...whiteminks wrote:I think the red roof looks great with silver too.
Is it difficult to keep clean I wonder ? Mmmmmmmmmm I wouldn't mind red on my car at some point.

The car is completely stock. Except the suitcase trunk carrier, which I added last year - I actually bought an additional boot cover, with holes and rack. Then resparayed it and swap it with original.smartypants wrote:hmmm... also quite like the ///M mirrors
Oh, and a new radio - Becker. Worth every penny...

And so, it is time for additional pics. My best friend bought a Zed last year, so, clearly, it was time for a few pics...
A lot more pics can be seen on facebook, in my profile, and in the group: BMW Z3 Roadster Owner's Club - on facebook.

Titan, do you realise how many interesting countries would you pass in between?Titan wrote:Lovely pictures Austin - especially the second one
Shame it's so far to drive - we could have met up and had triplets
What is more loveable than driving a proper roadster on the alpine road to a hidden pocket country in the heart of the Europe?
I think you should consider the anual meet in Switzerland. So, we kindda met in between. And that is not true.
I couldn't make it last year, but this year...well, if recession doesn't cut in to hard, I'll be there!

I love the third one. They seem to be nuzzling each other and sussing each other out like 2 horses meeting for the first time.
My Toadster is pretty similar but he has black seats.

Well, I should change the name of this thread to: Our precious toy.
It seems that my, in two days allready a two year old son, likes the car as much as his dad...or maybe even more...
I should mention that I worry allready, my son Patrik gets a baby sister or a baby brother in December...so, I am considering a four seater convertible instead of a five series...

Austen, great thread and pics, you do have a talent for framing pics
I too have a (aging now) Canon D20 but don't get much chance to use it and revert to my trusty pocket camera. You can only really get those depth of fields with a proper SLR. Maybe next summer I will get away for a day to take some proper pics of mine, hope they turn out as good as yours ps do you use a tripod /anti shake lens or just steady handed ?
I never knew you could spec ///M mirrors as a factory options, some new learnt today
Perfect combination of car and scenery, well done

Yes, at first the photos from a pocket camera do look ace compared to DSLR, but when you add a few touches in PS, well, frankly, there is no comparision.
No, I don't use tripod. All pics are taken from hand.
Yes, you could order M mirrors from factory - money doesn't smell you know...
I wanted to come to London by car this month and take some pics in the great city, but I don't think I'm up to driving a LHD car on the wrong side of the road...

But thanks for sharing them all the same.
The only one I can identify with at the moment is #5 in your second post.
Most of the UK is getting strong winds and heavy rain at the moment!
Yes, I can imagine how you feel regarding that fifth photo...
