Nice looking zed, first one I've seen with those wheels on - looks good The only thing that should stop you getting the roof down is when it's raining and even that's questionable

DJT, no disrespect but I can't believe you haven't had the hood down yet. My Z3 doesn't have an exterior temp display so the rule of thumb is - sun shining - roof down. I drove from Matlock to Buxton in November in shirt sleeves with the top down. The heater offers two choices, legs warm or arms warm.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
What a lightweight. The REAL rule of thumb is: "not raining -- roof down."saltcoatsbhoy wrote: the rule of thumb is - sun shining - roof down

do you actually like driving at all or are cars to you just a manifestation of some sort of pathological mother complex ?
Nah. Snow isn't as much of a factor as the rain in the Fens.pingu wrote:#amended#spokey wrote:What a lightweight. The REAL rule of thumb is: "not snowing -- roof down."saltcoatsbhoy wrote: the rule of thumb is - sun shining - roof down

Spokey et al - I stand suitably corrected. However, two Sundays ago I was giving it a blast round a few B roads in the Matlock area when i was assailed by a fierce hailstorm. Normally rain doesn't settle on the dashboard if you're going fast enough but the passenger seat was beginning to turn white.
Two women in a 4 x 4 were p***ing themselves laughing as they cruised by when they saw me jumping out to get the hood up.
Remember, if the Lord had intended us to drive round with the hood up on a convertible (s)he would not have invented the beanie hat - or equivalent!

I find the blowers sufficient to ward off most of the winter weather. (except rain and snow). I work with a guy who drives an MX5 and has the roof down every day!!! even when it is raining. He has built up such a reputation that most of the company call him "Roof Down Dave". Why buy a convertible if you only covert it 10 times a year???????
A wee bit chilly roof staying firmly up????????DJT wrote:Hi Guys,

Don't keep the roof up. As long as it is dry, just drop roof, turn up heater and get a hat on.DJT wrote:Hi Guys,

Yep, totally agree, a good ‘go faster cap’ [back closed in] a nice white scarf wrapped around your neck, heater full blast, you can go all day and stay nice and warm. Just one thing, if you have to switch the wipers on get ready to duck. Most Zers will know what I mean.Res'kerZ3 wrote:Get a scarf, hat and turn the heater on! a bit of rain isnt noticeable above 50 anyway it gos straight over!
