Managed to get some better pics of the car with the new ACS sports suspension fitted, and wheels back from refurbishers.

The handling has been transformed totally as well as the car aesthetically being improved too.Justin Time wrote:I love the contrasting red interior/black exterior there, and dropping it just a few mm really makes a difference. Worth the money spent aesthetically, she's a beauty!
Thanks

"not bad"!!!!............Theres always one isnt therebenslick wrote:Not bad for a Z3 but having an ac badge and m badge is all wrong!
Enlighten me............ACS kit is not allowed on an M badged car? Are we not splitting hairs here
The car has an m badge in the steering wheel (as new from factory), the side grills are a replacement of the previous chrome ones hence the m badge.
the car has ACS Type II rims and full ACS sports suspension...i like it and it's my car so there

I agree, if you look at my sig pic you can see that the car used to have chrome grills and the handles looked great with the grills, they will get changed at some time but im in no rush.MrPoz wrote:I think the car looks great as always but IMO the side of the car would benefit from body coloured door handles rather than chrome giving a cleaner look.

Where did you get the suspension kit from? Looks nice with those gaps in the arches filled.

The kit was from Rossiters in Norfolk. Speak to Daniel there and he will help you out.
Sit down though when he tells you the price....Imho worth every penny though.

Surprisingly no, the ride before the kit was fitted definitely gave my fillings a real shake, tramlining was an issue as was cornering.
The ride has been transformed and the car is a pleasure to drive. Took her around the Lakes yesterday over very different road surfaces and the ACS kit has transformed the car for the better, its a much smoother ride with tramlining virtually non existent and cornering is a joy.

Car is looking good.
I'd remove the m badging off the gills though.
Also agree with door handles, and through in the windscreen surround too.
Additionally I'd paint he two HVAC centre panels with a black paint.
I think black red and silver is too much personally.

Its a beauty, looks great as it is,
but you have it it how you want it, and not how the others would have it.

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

Thanks...........roadhog wrote:That looks beautiful!
How low has it been dropped? and how much? thinking of getting some bigger wheelse and lowering mine?
I have a black z3, the facelift 2litre
Thanks
Now that the car has settled its about 30mm on the back and about 25mm on the front and thats low enough, i certainly wouldnt want the rear any lower. As for price the total bill from BMW including top mounts front and rear, ACS suspension kit, full wheel alignment, rectified handbrake rattle and did the MOT.......total cost inc vat was £1605.
now before everyone starts saying .............how much!!! let me just say that my local BMW dealer (Batemans) are superb and service has never been anything other than 110% and the car is always a bit of a talking point when it goes in and Im treated as well as the guys who walk in with £80 grand bm's. I get to speak to the mechanic working on my car and its usually the same guy each time (and he has a z3 too)
More importantly tho the car has been transformed from a car that tramlined all over the place, shook my fillings out and generally handled quite poorly to a car that now handles superbly, tramlining is non existent and the ride over the bumpy lakes road can only be described as plush yet firm......contradiction I know but thats the only way I can describe it, the damping etc on the ACS kit is spot on and despite the price I would recommend it to anyone.

The car looks great, as you well know!
I *should* be ordering the parts to widen my AC's shortly, they have to come from Germany and the exchange rate is a bit of a killer - but seeing yours as tidy as this makes me want to bite the bullet! I'm also hoping to get my Aero kit fitted next month (albeit I've still got to order the rear bumper!).
The ONLY thing I'd recommend to you now is to source and fit Z3M wing mirrors, they'd finish the car perfectly! And ensure that both our cars look even more similar once finished haha.

If you do a google search there are places you can still get them, try this guy too.roadhog wrote:Hi, How much are those AC schnitzer Race types? i cant find anywhere to buy them? ACschnitzer.com dont sell?
Also will they fit a standard facelift model Z3 roadster?
thanks

For genuine ac 3 piece split rims new price about 700- 800 a rim . The 2 piece are considerably cheaper.
Not sure if they will fit yours, speak to Chris at Rossiters as they are the ac importers and he will be able to tell you what will fit your car
Cheers
