Thanks alot its taken a bit of thinking. its so easy to change gear, I hold the highest point and shift. I have got a short shift that I need to fit to see if it will reduce the travel much. Its less effort then a standard gear height being the pump at steering wheel height.

you think mines too high, this is the one in a mates bugeye impreza...

So went out to a Stanceworks Uk year finale meet and got some recognition. for those that dont know who Stanceworks is, they are one of the biggest car stance forums around and they posted this

since the last shots and this shot ive lamin-x'd the fogs, added a homemade splitter and change the rear tyre for a better fitment.

Thanks alot i'm glad i have friends that can take photos in useless at cameras. :) I did a shoot in the golf there and loved the back ground. The kerb directly in front of the entrance is a no go. There is a dip in the pathway to the left for pedestrians. I went round that way. I did still have to drag its ass along

Great looking car, and congrats on getting into the Mag! How did you make the splitter? and what materials did you use?

Wow, thanks alot. I have to say I am now falling in love with Z3's. Thats what I'm about I cant stand big skirts all round and body kits even though i should at my age. :)
Thanks as said none of them taken by myself but glad they can use a camera.

The splitter well all it is. is a...dont laugh....Garage door seal :D cost me just over a tenner too. I think this looks better then those vile looking side stick splitters that not only look like a broken splitter, but probably are a rip off because they're made by a money grabbing company.

Thanks alot for the kind comments.
I have mentioned the splitter/garage door seal above :) I just used some double sticky tape that cam with the seal and a few self tapping screws. It works a treat as its rubber so takes a beating from the road well. :D

Nice wheels.
Really not so sure about the window sticker or your tow hook though mate. Looks oddball....but then again it's your choice.

Not really much modding aside from the wheels that you can do on a Z I think.
They're nice as they are.

Did you come up with the idea to use a garage door rubber? Because that is fantastic! I love stuff like that...

The car scene I'm into is mostly over the pond. Thats where i first saw it. Its very cheap and effective and anyone can fit one, if you can't you need shooting

I too love things like this. On a golf forum we had a thread of cheap mods to do to a car, was very useful.

That would be a good idea for this forum! Like a show and tell for home made/cheap mods...

I looked at the blog, watched the video...You're a braver man than I am, the watch out for this bit! CRUNCH bits would make my anus retract into my throat! I'm bad enough with my (comparatively) off road ready version :P

Exactly ill start 1 up with my mod and see where it goes from there. Must be quite a few about I would have thought.

I used to once be like you when I first dropped the golf. Im pretty used to it now unlike my passenger  Its the strut brace and exhaust that catches the road the most.
Most 'offroad' versions I have seen have scuffed front bumpers. Either that or they can't park :)

Was there a problem with the bolts ?

The bolts had seen better days. Would get them cleaned and re-plated but would be more costly then buying new bolts.

I do run it it the window. I would run it on the front but the number plate holder is ugly and ruins the front for me.?

It was January issue so a while back when the forum was down. Really enjoyed that shoot and got a good write up.

I wish I would get paid if I don't do it no one else does. :)

Thanks alot. Rims are in bits tight now, I'm polishing the lips and getting new bolts.
Being as low and stiff as it is, the handling is not great. i do drive it quite hard considering. I have driven it on an air field and got to 135 on the dial and had no problem getting there and stopping.
I am going to change a few bush's and see if any differences are made.
The only real problem is going through half a tyre and having to change it to the other half.

I love the work you have done to get your z looking as good as it does. wish i had the space and money. absolutely brilliant stuff.

Heres a pic of 2 rims atm..

usually pick up a few things from http://www.wheel-whores.com/forum/

but a good video that shows the stages anf finishes is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyOodLNI ... re=related

I use nitromors to remove paint/laquer. It works well so you'll have to completely split the rims apart. remember to use silk or a thin cloth between rim bolts and the socket.

Nice... Will give a wave if I see you about. there is a jewish racing gold coloured Z3 a few roads from me and a silver Z3 that drives past me every now and then so you may see a few about.
Bench wrote:Ouch that camber must hurt, mine is low and the camber is 4.5 degrees on the rear...yours must be more than that!
I think mine may be a bit more will have to get it measured up. Does hurt the tires a bit but just swap them over when they wear down.

Cars on standard wheels while the images get polished up and will be having the bumper resprayed ready for a roadtrip to Belguim the end of next month. I cant wait to take it out on a nice long drive. :)

So cars back together now. had a front end respray, wheel centers are now pearl white, rear wheels are now 10.5 inch wide, exhaust tailpipes are bigger..

Heres a few shots of how it looks took a trip to Brussels for a car show a couple of weeks ago. Excuse the balloon rear tires hoping to change them soon.

Put the car together running on 2 hours sleep so wasn't thinking straight. Was noticed as soon as I got to the show. Thanks alot next thing is to lose the tow hook and chuck it in the boot once I get a blank for the bumper.

Not too bad about 6 hours. UK shows are ok but nowhere as good as most other european shows. Going to Netherlands in august for a show :) Mad I know but a convoy of good friends and some nice roads to drive down makes it worth it for that alone.

Thanks alot for the comments. I did love the gold centers, but the pearl white looks so good in the sun on the car. Thanks really strange when people say that but makes it all worth it even more :D

Hello dude ive got you on fb, well low life anyhow...

I see some pics at graff tunnel in London, are you local? I'm in Kent.

Just slammed my Z, got my 8.5 and 9.5J rims to go on in next week or two. If you are local then a meet up could be good for some photos?

Oh and whats the spec of your wheels and what tyre sizes you got on? ta man

Though your car is way to low in my taste I must say, it looks really good!!

Since you put so much energy, money and time into it.... you should do something about the brakes - you simply cannot have rusty and dirty brakes on car car as clean and tidy as yours.

The flange on the discs - paint them with a heat resistant white paint - this will will make the wheels look even deeper - calipers etc. should painted black.

My brakediscs are painted silver 8heat resistant paint) and calipers black - no more rusty brakes and it looks good to - and when you service your car you can wipe the brake dust of with a cloth - just an idea... :D

Quick question about your all red rear lights. They look really cool, but do your indicators still flash orange? What about your reverse lights? I assume they light up red?

Cheers

It is too low for alot of people i understand. front calipers are black rears are tiny and not very noticeable so not in a rush to do them. I have new disks to chuck in so i will spary them up... thanks for that

In the day time they are mostly red and at night they are orange. Reverse light does light up red not required to be white in mot's

Cleaned the engine bay for the first time in a long time. The result.....
