Blue Z3M - Red/Black M interior

Post by bertiejaffa »

Hi All, I am contemplating a new project and looking for some thoughts and images on S50 estoril blue Z3M with the full red and black interior. Is this something that anyone has done or seen before?

Not seen it, but doesn't sound like a good combination to me.

First I was like "YUCK" but then I was like "Hmm... that could actually work". 8-) It's a fine line between "classy" and "tacky" though... Probably standard imola red interior would look rather nice, but any additional "tuning" and (in my humble opinion) it quickly leans towards tacky.

I'd say go for it!

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

No, seriously, do it. Try it. Won't kill anyone. Keep the original interior though - if you don't like it, at least you can go back to standard.

Cheers everyone for the comments.. The porsche is probably the closer to estoril blue. It has too much Red for me, and the red is brighter than the tanin red interior I can get but it does give me a good comparison. hmmm decisions decisions... I just find the blue interior of the M looks cold.... (Ok bring on the stones and rocks from the M owners :? )

Red and a few flashes of black would do it better than 100% red...

I must admit I like the full black!, I like the blue and black seats, but im not overly fond of the blue dash pieces that come with it, they wouldn't put me off buying one with blue/black, but id rather have full black.

whats the standard trim colour of the car in question?

That actually looks pretty good...The Estoril blue works with the two tone red/black very nicely... :sunny

As I already mentioned in my first comment, it's a fine line between classy and tacky... And in my eyes, that definitely leans towards classy! :thumb:

I have a confession to make... I am not a big fan of the blue/black interior. A while ago I wasn't a big fan of any two-tone interiors, when I saw one all I could see was 90s leather jackets! Since buying my M, the red/black combination has slowly grown on me, but blue/black still gives me flashbacks. (all you blue/black interior owners, please don't hate me :D )

It's alright :? But I don't think I'd have it out of choice (better than I'd imagined though)
