Chrome Browser
Chrome Browser
Just wondered if anyone was using Google Chrome if so what are the pros and cons?
I use it from time to time, but somehow still prefer Firefox. It works just fine, seems to be nicely standards compliant, but some of the options are not easy to find for first-time users. I think my biggest bugbear is with privacy - Google are very good at getting people to use things for free so that they can harvest data (and profit) from them - whether this is true of Chome or not, I don't know, but it is a thought that is always at the back of my mind. Some of the things they produce are just so useful that we accept any potential loss of privacy just to use them.

Fire fox is getting heavy day by day and freq crashes also occurring. Now i switch to chrome. It's light and fast. Chrome load individual processes for add ons and that's why it does not crash itself due to other add ons crashing.

Re: Chrome Browser
Chrome is good and in general gives a better user experience in my opinion and I have it as my default browser on my Pc and my Mac. You will find that some websites will not function properly with it - pop ups often being the issue and when I find this problem I then use firefox. Also on my Mac some functionality (the FAO, Members, Logout) icons on this forum dont appear correctly.
As a matter of course website will usually test compatability with Internet Explorer and Safari as standard and so those should always work.

Re: Chrome Browser
Firefox is the most web compliant
then Chrome
then Safari
(both code forks from webkit)
then IE which is hopeless!
So all our coding for internal systems where we can control the browser will be firefox optimised - though for public facing they should work on all four / Android / iOS
