Packard bell ixtreme x2711

Post by chrisp_1 »

Since we purchased our Dell i7 laptop and moved house we have one of the above sat in it box not getting used.

It is mint condition and everything there including the media centre remote and IR sensor things etc.

Question is should we just get rid now as it's not being used? and secondly any ideas on what to ask for it on e-bay?

Spec is as follows (i think  :?: )

CPU - Intel core 2 quad Q6600
Mother B - San Franciso 2 (Foxconn)
Memory - 2GB DDR2 PC2-4200
Hard drive - 320GB SATA II
CD/DVD - Dual layer DVD+-RW
Memory cards - Packard Bell Flash memory card drive 15 in 1
Graphics - nVidia GeForce 8500GT with turbo cache
TV - Asus TV-7131/FM Tiger
Network card - VIA Rhine II VT6103
Firewire - Via OHCI Compliant IEEE1394 Host controller
Sound - Realtek ALC888
Keyboard - PB wireless
Mouse - PB wireless

Software -
Windows Vista Premium (legit),
Microsoft office suite ( perfect cr*ck   )
MS Works (legit)

Any guidance from a Tecchy would be helpful - I just copied all the above info and now a clue TBH :dunce:

Cheers :D

Best thing to do is search on eBay for finished auction for your model and get an idea of what they go for. This'll give you accurate expectations because computers depreciate like cars....

Haha,.. they probably depreciate worse than cars.

I did have a look on ebay as you suggest but nothing that specific, my brother in law says it best to put it on a buy it now / best offer at £200 and see what offers come in.

A Packard Bell ixtreme x2711 sold on ebay on the 7th Dec 2012 for £69.69 + £18p&p. I think the model is approx 4 years old which may explain the low price. At that price,i wouldn't have thought it was worth selling with ebay listing, selling & paypal fees taken out.£200 appears a little optimistic imho and £70 very low.

Cheers Gemini, I'd say you summed that up pretty well - probably best sticking it in the attic for what it's worth. I'd be happy with £150 though (anyone?).

If I was you,I'd be putting an advert on a postcard in a local newsagents, local supermarket and an email to work colleagues if you can.Everybody needs a computer, students always need a PC,silver surfers, unlimited market, good price and it'll fly out.Good Luck.
