Outstanding country pub with real ales and great food

The 15 mile strech of the B1228 from Howden to this place will put a smile on your face!

do you actually like driving at all or are cars to you just a manifestation of some sort of pathological mother complex ?

First visit was for lunch. The sandwich was fantastic, fresh crusty bread, best chips for ages and what's even better.... some great roads getting there.

However, the second visit was for an evening meal and it was a disappointment.

Yippee! Another Z'er from Howden. Hi there. I think you live near where we garage our car as I've seen a Z4 2.0 there a lot recently.

Haven't tried that pub yet, heard about it, but usually stop off at the Barnes Wallis or head further afield.

Hi Stu, you will soon recognise my Z as the VRM starts with JAZ

We use the Barnes Wallis regularly but tend to walk up there (and stagger back)

Will keep an eye out for you
