Garden House Hotel - Cambridge

Post by Gazza » Mon 24 Mar, 2008 18:06

Quality Hotel set on the River Cam in the centre of Cambridge.

Easy walking access to the Punts, pubs and restaurants.

Highly recommended restaurant is The Chop House at 1 Kings Parade. First impressions were of a Tea shop, once inside we were shown downstairs to a fantastic restaurant which used the basements of the adjoining premises. Plenty of choice from a splendid Menu.

My first visit to Cambridge and it will not be my last :D

I stayed here a few years ago and thought it was a nice middle ground.
Not too expensive, not too shabby :)

:) Cambridge really is a beautiful city, Gazza. If you get the chance when

you are next visiting here, you must walk along the backs of the colleges,

it is like stepping back in time and would make a memorable visit for you 8-)

We also dined at the Chop House, not much to look at from the outside but once inside we were very pleasently surprised, fantastic meal.

It looks like a corner shop cafe from the outside, maybe it is during the day ? we were taken to the basement which goes under about three premises and that is where the pics are taken as used on the website.
