Dont you guys have any DIY on replacing engine oil on a Z1?

Post by Avo86 »

Hi, I was thinking if any of you guys have a diy with pictures on how to change oil in a Z1. I've read that is kind of difficult? I followed this example when I changed the oil on my E46 M3 http://m3.madrussian.net/diy_oil_change.shtml

It will be cool to see something like a DIY section on working on a bmw Z1 repair stuff. 8-)

Shure ;-)

Where's the problem ... the filter is a little bit different to the one the picture is showing (it's mounted on the side of the engine) - but changing oil is quite easy and simple.

Hi,

Replacing oil is not a difficult task. But be prepared to burn a bit your hand removing the oil filter behind the exhaust manifold. :?

I did as Frederic said. Caught wrist on manifold, dropped oil filter. This meant I then had to remove the plastic air deflector under the engine, to clean the oil!!
