Brake system

Post by Pat Slade »

Hi, was reminded by Sam's (sfh31) comments about brake feel that I would be interested to know if any of you gave fitted new brake hoses of the "Goodridge" type, and whether they improve pedal firmness.
It must wise to replace the flexible hoses on any car over 15 years of age!
Incidentally I cannot see the BMW part number for the standard rear flexible brake hoses on the Mobile Tradition parts CD or on Real OEM. Am I going blind???

Cheers

Pat,

I had already replaced my hoses with the braided items, and it was a definite improvement. Still not the feel I wanted though. I agree re replacing such things as a matter of course on an "old" car. It is a pretty harsh environment too, with the heat and sharp movements as the car goes over bumps, not to mention the nasty fluid on the inside!
Hope to have mine sorted once and for all pretty soon, once the parts arrive.
Best regards,

Sam Lever.
