Decided that we're driving to the Mille Miglia the week before your trip, will definitely have a party here at the 21st, got more information about Rolly Royce, send and e-mail if we/you can do the factory visit (problem ... new baby-rolls is coming ...), got an extension to my project ..., so I definitely cannot decide before April if I can come with you or not. Too busy ... sorry.
Okay Horke,

We will wait on your decission until April! Keep us informed about the RR visit.

Regards,

Harold

Hi Jet,
Put me down for Saturday. :)
I'll have to meet you all at Silverstone. Where is the Bugatti Museum? I might have time to visit there as well before I head back home. You'll have to let me know what time your looking to get to Force India.

Thank you for your support Ian, looking forward to seeing the immaculate Z1 again.
The Bugatti Museum is 2 miles from Cheltenham, close to the Cotswolds, there is also a Bugatti Restaurant in Gretton, all within easy reach of the area.

Just an update - Rolls Royce Factory Visit will probably not possible :

"We are currently in pre-production for our new model series and the manufacturing plant is unlikely to be open for general tours until next year."

Hope that we will see real Photos of the Baby-Rolls soon, sp that it won't be a secret any more to keep

Hi Horke,

Is Frank Wolf himself coming! He told Franz he will be joining us in his black Z1. Would be nice! :D

We could use some counterbalance to all the red Zeds.

Hello all.
I've been keeping an eye on this thread showing details of this event. I'd love to go along but unsure if it will be possible. Is there a cut off date for booking? From what I can see, the event is staying in or around the Cotswolds on Saturday night. Where are ye starting out from on Friday night/Saturday morning?

Simple answer..........wife & 3 kids.

Saturday is not necessarily the problem. I'm trying to see what time ferries arrive in Holyhead or Fishguard and how long it takes to get to Fri night venue.
Haven't checked if passport is available from wife for weekend yet. Want to have most of my homework done first.

Thursday 21st May 2009

We have booked a hotel in Brighton for some of our guests from the continent for Thursday night including secure parking fr our Z1s below the hotel. The plan is Dinner and drinks after the long drive.

Friday 22nd May 2009

Short tour of Brighton followed by a jaunt up to Devils Dyke and a country Pub for lunch followed by a relaxed drive up to London passing some famous landmarks. Then we will check into our London Hotel and visit the west end (London by night)

Up early on Saturday to follow Jamahl (Jet) to meet other Zs and continue the tour northwards out of London...

We still need to choose our London Hotel but I will email everyone with my ideas...

all the best, Ben..

18 Rooms at Ettington have been reserved for everyone who requested it, with a further 2 on hold. Contracts are being drawn up and will be issued shortly.

Once signed, the hotel reservation team will contact each of us individually to pay for your room and any additional requirement, the menu will also be sent out so they can make a note of your preferences. Any problems with that, please let me know.

Greetings all,

A copy of the email sent to everyone:

Finally received the contract and Dining options from Ettington. They have reserved 15 rooms for our tour, I may need to increase that number, as 18 of you have confirmed your interest in staying at the Hotel. A further 5 rooms have been reserved for any late changes.

Please ensure you read the attached document and confirm to me that you are happy to proceed. Can you also include your menu preferences and any dietary requirements which will be forwarded to the Hotel.

To Summarise, please respond to me with the following:

1. Confirm contract agreement
2. Choose your dining preferences from the menu
3. Email your Name, address, telephone number and number of people attending

Rgds

Jet

PS: All private details will remain private, they will be forwarded to Katie Collins of Ettington in order to contact you directly, none of your details will be published online.

Harold, Pierre,

Do you know what your departure time will be on sunday 24th for the Eurostar, or will you book a flexible ticket and just take the next available option?
I need to put together a rough route guide with scheduled stops along the way for saturday and sunday, late comers can join us at particular stops and also plan their getaway once the event is finished.

Let me know

There is no "if" and definitely no "then", you must get it sorted before April 18/19

I know a team of crack experts who dismantled and removed a Range Rover Sport Dashboard by the side of the road, when the chap who borrowed it left the sunroof open in a downpour , so im sure they can sort an immobilizer if you get desperate, but they are based in Park Royal.

One per car is better. :D

We would need a bare minimum of two per group, but more is better. I will be drawing up driving notes as well, but these are never as easy to use as a TomTom.

Simply a visual aid to ensure everybody stays on the same route and not get lost, as it will be impossible to keep all the cars together. We will travel in groups and meet at each scheduled stop.

In Holland Brighton gangsters or all gangsters for that matter are not allowed to use creditcards. They are revoked together with a driverslicense when they are on probation. So tell me what did you do this time????? :D :D :D

Hey Jet,

I'm ashamed to say that I haven't read this for a while. I will be bringing my Navman (Doris) so that is one more for the road so to speak.

Better late than dead on time I always say......

Can't wait till the sun shines again.

UK Tour Update for the Thursday 21st & Friday 22nd of Ma

Post by benslick »

Thursday 21st

I am expecting some Dutch & German friends from the continent to arrive on Thursday evening in Brighton. They will stay in cool hotel in central Brighton for the night. I expect we will have dinner & drinks.

Friday 22nd

We will meet up Friday morning and go on a little tour around Brighton & Hove and then up to divil's dyke. We will then drive on the fantastic A272 to Sheet in Hampshire to the Queens Head Pub for a spot of lunch. From there we will head to Windsor past the castle for the nice scenic run into London. We will drive through picadilly circus, around Trafalgar Square and up the mall on route to our London Hotel on the banks of the river Thames overlooking the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. In the evening we will head into the trendy Soho for a few drinks.

The following day we will head north out of London to meet up with the English Z1 drivers and the following days events!

All the best,

Ben..

I hope you guys all have a fantastic time. I can highly recommend Ettington Park. Mrs Roaders and I got married there in March.

Katie looked after us for the 18 months it took to organise the wedding and did an absolutely fantastic job looking after all my relatives' complicated requests.

I was actually thinking of organising a run staying there but you guys have beaten me to it.

If you want to see some pictures from our special day take a look here.

Le Route:

Confirmation from Spokey on the driving Route for those that cannot make the starting point or wish to meet along the way.

Initially I plan to meet all South East based owners somewhere along the North circular road, the A406, maybe IKEA or perhaps the Docklands. If anyone wishes to join that group, let me know please.

This group will most likely be made up of Paul, Myself, Ben, Harold, Pierre, Franz, Pat, and some others, we will then aim to meet at the first stop.

The following is from Spokey:

1. Birchanger services at junction 8 on the M11.
People who want to meet here MUST be here by 09:00 at the very latest, with their cars filled up for the cruise. There will be an extensive safety briefing starting at 09:00. Cars will depart starting at 09:30 in wings, with the last wing leaving no later than 10:00, and preferably earlier.

2. Baldock Extra services at junction 10 on the A1(M). ETA for this is around 11:30, if meeting there, please make sure your car is filled there.

3. Force India at Silverstone at around 13:00.

4. Silverstone Golf Course at around 14:30.

5. Castle pub in Ratley at around 16:00.

6. Ettington Park Hotel at around 17:30

Ben..
