Agree! C'mon, gents....we are on pins and needles here. Who is prevailing in the invasion--the Dutch/Germans or the Brits?anbei wrote:

In terms of numbers, I think Britain is well-placed to repel the invaders. But in terms of the awesomeness of their cars, a couple of the foreigners have it sewed up.

Cruze I missed
Jet and all the guys so sorry I missed the cruze, devestated, fuel pump went ten minutes from my front door, gutted. Then I was hit by a blind cyclist whilst waiting for the RAC mad crazy day so depressed. Jet has the pictures very sureal to say the least, car damaged and after only two weeks out of the paint shop, all sympathy is welcomed.

Hey Guys:
Nice to meet you all and to see your lovely little cars. It is great to put faces to aliases and to be reminded that the Z1 'infection' runs wider than just my own garage!
Thanks to all our European visitors for making the effort to come across. I hope you weren't disappointed.
Special thanks to Spokey for planning the routes, fixing the weather (!) and introducing me to Fish Hill.
Jet - you deserve a medal for the initial idea and the perseverence to see it through to reality.
Great company
Great weather
Great food
Great scenery
Great drives
Good hotel
Great fun
Weekends don't get much better really!

The invaders brought some serious equipment, and their weapons were definitely louder than ours
Spokey led the resistance with pride and spirit whilst Jet cleaned his car
I'd call it a draw, when's the re-match?
Seduced by the zed side
Most of my photos are the same (worse than ?) as the ones already posted. Just the one snap shot slightly different.
A big thank you to Jet, Spokey and Andy. Great company, great routes and stops (Force India, Silverstone etc) and great company.
It's only when you explore on your own that you realise the quality of the routes used. There were no single track lanes that you need to crawl down just high speed roads with good visibility. Well done Spokey.
For those that missed the meeting, it's worth noting that the females in the group appeared to very much enjoy the weekend so don't be put off bringing wives, girlfriends etc (?) to future events. It's a great social event.

It's probably getting a little repetitive now but I would like to say a big thanks to Jet and Spokey for organising what was a fantastic weekend and whoever arranged the weather deserves a medal too even though I have second degree burns to my head!
It was great meeting such a friendly bunch of people and our friends from overseas provided a taste of just what can be achieved with these great little cars.
Most of the photos I took are fairly similar to the ones already posted so I have tried to pick out a few that are vaguely different.
Looking forward to the next meet even if I have to drive back from the South of France!
Cheers

Hi Guys
Although it has been said many times before a huge thank you to Jet for the original idea, Spokey for the route planning and great company at dinner Andy for the Force India tour.
It was great to finally put a face to all the handles on the forum and the weather was the icing on the cake. The hotel and location was spot on.
One thing which is worrying the wife having seen some of the pics is - Jet how many of the Haribo jelly babies made it to the finishing post without melting down the back of your seat?
I hope that our German and Dutch friends enjoyed themselves. Some of them certainly are packing a big punch for example Pierre's, Franz' car and Holland Harry's with his big engine and loud zorst to name but a few!!
Fortunately we had numbers over substance...
Any way here are some pics altho perhaps not such good quality as some of the others we have seen
Great day, great company
GG
Come on Jet Mr Shakeyhands is offering you a hand of friendship here....
Why is Tea Tray not looking so happy has someone been feeding his tortoise without his permission?

Awesome pics, but not a one with a UK, Dutch or German flag in it (not as easy as it looks, huh Ben ). Other than the license plates, how is one to know who are the invaders and who the invadees?

UK Tour
I would like to thank absolutely everyone that made the effort to come on the tour as you all added value & made it a fantastic weekend! I enjoyed meeting you all so much indeed, even the guys who are not so verbal on the forum turned out to be brilliant. I hope we meet up again sooner rather than later. I also had, had some banter from Spokey on the forum in the past and in person I found him to be very funny & amusing.
As far as our European friends are concerned, thank you for coming down to Brighton and also putting up with my slightly over ambitious plans on the Friday. I wanted to show you as much as possible. We had many good meals and the sun was shinning so I hope we have fought off a few stereotypes of our little island. Good food, good weather & great roads if we forget the pot holes! Just for the record, the day after you left the UK the rain started pooring again
To my suprise I have not done my boy racer image credit as I now know that I am a very average slowish driver or perhaps just a bit of a whimp! Thanks to Spokey!
In the afternoon I was the number two car behind Spokey with Rene behind me and Sam behind him. I had a stonking headache from the night before (Erwin & his dad Scheff's drinking night out on the town) I managed to stay on Sokey's tail for most of the time but at one point I had to get up to 60mph just to catch up to him up. He was taking the corners so perfectly, I was worrying more about what was behind the corners not wanting to hit anyone or anything. Around the next corner was a lady on a horse and I had to slam on my brakes as hard as I could (thanks Franz) so I could pass her slowly enough. So I just thought to myself I'll just chill and hang back. Now I will take a advanced driving course to become a better driver! Anyway I let the pack fly past and got some more great shots of you all for my Z1 book...
The weekend flew by & I had a fantastic time so thanks again.

I just got a lovely reminder of the cruise from the Essex Police.
Apparently, when I topped up at the start and sent Lynne in for breakfast and (I thought) to pay for the petrol. She missed the bit about paying for the petrol though.
So I phoned up the petrol station and paid, but now there is no-one at the police station answering the phone so that I can tell them about it.
