Z1 Book Celebrating the 20th Anniversary (COFFEE TABLE BOOK)

Post by benslick »

I have put together a book, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the BMW Z1... Essentially it is a coffee table picture book. The best thing about the book is that half the photo's are all from BMW Z1 drivers donated by many different people. If anyone wants a copy of this 430 page Z1 book, they are welcome to one. I put this book together out of pleasure.

It is a pretty cool Z1 picture book with many unusual cars and unusual facts. It also has a few suprises in it! Many of the forum members cars are featured. There are cars featured from all over Europe, South America, North America, Asia & the Far East.

All the best,

Ben..

That looks fabulous Ben.
I can see the work that must've gone in to producing it.
Congrats on what is sure to become a very collectable tome.

I guess if you have to ask the price, then you can't afford it, right?

Can Santa buy me one for Xmas? :D

I'm very interested in a hard copy, but I'll only buy it when it's ready to be sent. Do you take credit cards? Paypal? Quidco discount? :D

Terrific job, Ben...sign me up for two copies, please. One for me (with a Z1) and one as a gift for my brother (who wants one!).

Can we order in USD and drop ship from booksmart to US addresses?

Well done Ben, smashing job. Will you be handling sales ? or can you post an ordering/delivery company address on the site. Looks like a lot of members are ordering through yourself. It will be the pride of the coffee table I am sure. Congrats!!!!!!!

Benjamin,

I would be very pleased with a hard back copy please mate.
The book looks very impressive indeed - even better than the glimpses you showed me when you last came here. You must be really chuffed.

Thanks for all the hard work.

Sam Lever.

I noticed the absence of the BMW name and logos. I presume this is for copyright reasons.

If you do a second edition, I'm sure they'd consider endorsing it if it is as good as it looks. Especially if you send the CEO a free copy :D .

Horke,

Half the photo's in the book were kindly given by Z1 drivers the world over! That's what's so lovely about this book. But trust me, I also have many that you will never have seen before!

Hi Guys

Post by benslick »

When the time comes I am thinking of sending you all link to order the book direct from the company that is going to print the book because it will save postage. However I have so many orders now I intend to ask for a bigger discount maybe up to 20% But then I have to order all the books myself in one order and then re distribute to everyone which i do not mind doing. I will have a chat with the producers also...

I would like to ask what would be most people's preference? The book will be ready in the next couple of weeks after I recieve info from Germany and of all places Jordan! I am also speaking with BMW, Munich for a green light. Then we will be all steam ahead! :D

All the best,

Ben...

Ben,...

Which ever is easiest for you. I wouldn't mind the extra discount, but it will mean a lot or work for you to re-distribute etc etc

A friend wants to buy a Z1 after looking at the book!

Post by benslick »

My mate Steve came back from the States and visited me yesterday. He has previously borrowed my Z1 but after seeing the Z1 book he now wants to buy a Z1 and restore it properly as Harold has done. I will introduce him to Rene and Franz. Does anyone know of any good UK based Z1's for sale at the moment as I am going to help him find a good car to restore and upgrade! :D

I am opening my new business next week but the book will be ready very soon!

In Germany there are 63 Z1's for sale at the moment so take your pick!

Hey

Post by benslick »

Hello Harry,

I consider you a friend of mine, but you don't drive to badly!!!
(or do you! :D )

Once he finds the right car, he will be following your lead Harry! Maybe we will come to Holland. I told him about Franz 3.0L conversion and the cost of full restoration.....

He has a heated garage and some very unusual cars but prefers old and rare cars from Morris Minors, Jaguars, BMWs and old Mercs to old Aston Martins. I like his 1996 Porsche 911 though.... He does not like modern sports cars at all but he gets given alot of cool cars to drive, when in the States he always drives the new retro mussle cars but would not drive them in England...

I can only speak for myself, but I vote for direct order from the printer. You've already done all the heavy lifting to put this masterpiece together. With all the orders you are likely to get, you should not have to deal with the hassle of buying them all up front and then distributing all those books to us (we?) lot!

Hey Ben, I reckon when you have about 30 UK orders you tell everyone the date and place that we can collect them. That should give us the biggest UK meeting of Z1's.
