No words can explain that performance, just another step back. Still have one more chance to get act together.

OHDEAR OH DEAR OH DEAR. CAN IT GET ANY WORSE?
Mind you, it does help if you choose the best players (where is Joe Cole?) and then play them in their proper positions.

Just wasted 90+ minutes of my life. :head:
I am now worried about the match against Slovenia, as they played a brilliant game of football today against the USA.

I am so fed up I will just enjoy watching the classy teams like Brazil, Holland and Argentina bang the goals in. Last night was the worst England game I have seen in my life and it felt like total defeat. They were scared.

O well I still have my Z1

I don't normally watch football.

I figured I'd give it a go.

I wish I hadn't. I mean seriously, I've seen more action in F1 free practice! So boring... :(

I fail to understand how the whole team can play so badly at the same time. This goes back to the 2 friendlies before the World Cup. That's 4 games where we have played badly.

Has anyone else noticed how when one of our players receive the ball the opposition are on them straight away not allowing them time on the ball, whereas when the opposition receive the ball, we retreat and allow them time on the ball.

It would be good if the players could speak openly to the fans to tell us if there is a problem with Capello. Would never happen of course. I could never see the players playing as badly if Venables was the manager.

There is obviously a real problem within that team.

I was more annoyed with the continual back passing to our 2nd choice keeper (Calamity) James.

I think I must have fallen asleep at some stage because I hadn't even noticed they put Crouch on!

The joys of being an Englishman... :head:

You won't get a winning team until it plays as a team rather than relying on one or two star players to carry the rest. It never really works.

Embarrassing really :(

I spent two and a half hours driving home last night - sounds like it was worth missing - especially as it was dry up here and I got the roof down for the last bit! :P

I am glad that England are not in this group, they would have been decimated.

The England team went to visit an Orphanage this morning.

"its just so nice to be able to put a smile on the face of people with no hope, constantly struggling and facing the impossible" said Jamal Umbotto, aged 6

Is it just me ?

Can't say I've seen any exciting football from any team... or have I missed a good game somewhere?

Biggest excitement I got was winning a side bet with my boss who has Spain in our sweep and I have Switzerland. :D It really hurt him paying me :D

It felt really strange for me.

It's the first time I've ever felt sorry for the English fans.

South Africa 2010 must feel for you what Argentina 1978 felt like for me.

Will Joe Cole be your Archie Gemmill?

The FA have released a limited edition England shirt.

They've replaced the 3 lions with 3 tampons.

A spokesperson said "This was to reflect the worst period they've ever had."

I don't think that benslick was talking about Holland. :?

Portugal hammered North Korea to leave the European side needing a draw from their final game to make the last 16.

I think it would be wise for Portuguese vessels to avoid North Korean waters for the foreseeable future.

I know i'm Welsh and will always support two teams...Wales and who plays against England but my thoughts are:

#1 The team has players with great individual talent but together they cant work as a team.

#2 I can never see how a coach from another country can fully put himself behind a national team. which takes me onto point #3

#3 A national team needs a coach from the actual nation that understands the passion of its fans and football heritage.

#4 The British press "I FEEL" puts to much pressure and hype on national squads.

#5 Big names dont = big prizes. Those that are in good form and working well with others (e.g defoe & crouch at Totenham) play the inform players not the national favourites.

#6 Some of the big names need dropping to make them realise they are not invincable and cant expect a starting place every match. Make one and all fight for the honour of playing for the national side.

#7 THEY GET PAID FOR PLAYING FOR THEIR NATIONAL SIDE????. Drop that straight away. Playing for your country should be an honour...something you fight for and play with your heart. I was lucky to fight for Wales once in Judo. I fought and put 100% into getting in the squad. When I stepped out onto the mat and squared up for my first fight, the adrenalin was out of this world, the honour of the dragon on my chest, I felt so proud. Thats what it is about. I put my heart into it and got a gold medal and an award from the welsh judo association for my fighting. Thats what needs to be brought into the game.

On my drive home from work on the radio was a phone in about the match. Nothing but nutters raving about the Lampard dissallowed goal. OK....If they had the goal given.....it would of still been 4-2...whats the rest of your excuse??

England failed to perform. The manager can do so much but at the end of the day when they step out onto the pitch its down to the 11 players on the pitch to play and perform. England players didn't. Hold your hands up and admit defeat boys.

I'm off for a beer. :)

If I managed my team at work like that, I would be sacked.
If my team performed (or not) like that, I would sack them!
Capello has to go for starters.
A complete embarrassing shambles and we were lucky to get that far.

the best thing now for England is a fresh start, capello sailed through qualification and we played as a team. when the real games started we had no answer to even the worlds poorest sides. we need to move on from capello and go back to an english manager who understands the english way and the publics expectation and most of all what brings the best out of our boys. cos today we were individuals, not a team, i watch argentina tonight and when tevez scored he ran straight to maradona. did gerrard , defoe or upson run to capello ? sadly not.
so new manager , new fresh blood ie adam johnson and a new start .
i hope they give harry rednap a chance , but after today anyone will do .

I have said this since first game but Capello should go manage Italy or france..if they'd have him.
Get Engilsh management / coaching team together with immediate effect otherwise the likes of Gerrard, Lampard, Rooney, Cole etc etc will not show their true status on the big stage.
As for our defence then other than Johnson all places are vacant untill Terry sorts his ego.
