I bought a Z1 at the weekend, and have found this forum.

It is a 1989 build, chassis AL00366. I believe everything is original on the car, but am just starting to learn about Z1's. It has covered 21,000 miles in it's 21 year life.

My first task is to get it insured. I have searched the forum and will by trying Hagerty tomorrow.

Any advice on owning a Z1 appreciated.

Darren Wilson.

Hi and welcome to the forum DPW

That's nice and low mileage at 1000miles per year, and as for the advice, just don't drive it like Ben! :D and look forward to seeing the pictures in the top of the Z1 forum.

Welcome. Have you checked out this website for info about the Z1?

And you're going to have to come on a cruise with us sometime so we can all drool. :D

do you actually like driving at all or are cars to you just a manifestation of some sort of pathological mother complex ?

Welcome to the Forum.

For good Classic Insurance try RH Classics 01277 206911

I pay £127 full comp with agreed value & limited mileage on my 1965 Mustang

We need pics too

Hi Darren,

Welcome to the forum. I hope you find all the information that you require on here. There are members that have very specialised knowledge on all the things that go right and sometimes wrong with the Z1. So never fear of asking!
Where are you based in the UK ?

Welcome to a new world!!

Don't listen to Terry, the Z1 was built to drive and not just to look at!
My Z1 is in Holland having some love and care at the moment ( I hope!)
However I can't wait to get my hands on her asap..
Please post a pic o your new baby when you have time.

Where are you based in the UK and do you plan on doing anything to your Z1?

all the best,

Ben..

Many thanks for all the advice so far. I am on the case with insurance and will try the suggested companies so far.

Can you let me know the best place to post some pictures in order that they can be seen on this forum and I will upload some.

Bluebaur, I work in Lincoln and live near Newark, so am very close to you. The car is in Derby at the moment having oil, filters etc. changed as it has been stood in a showroom for 9 months and then dealers lock up for five months.

I look forward to meeting you all and starting to learn more about Z1's.

Welcome to Zd world DPW. A good find you have there. Hope you enjoy the drive. The Z1 crowd on here are a good bunch (if you can handle the banter) lol.

Welcome DPW, look forward to seeing some pics - if you do a search you can find plenty of help on how to upload pics (I find photobucket the easiest way) :thumb:
