I am hoping to be able to borrow a Tom Tom for the w/end as I own a Garmin. And trying to convert the TT file to Garmin language don't look easy :head:

If I bring the TT along with all the cables etc to Chieveley Services could someone load the route on for me if I cant sort it in time? (I cant get the TT till late friday evening so may not have the time to sort it with the early start)

I understand ChrisS will have a laptop & BBZ more than enough cables :P

Cheers GG

It's fancy dress :D

The route strays briefly into Wales where this is everyday attire, not fancy dress. :o

For those that don't have TomTom sat navs:

If you open the .itn files with a text editor each waypoint is in the format of

longitude|latitude|name

The lat and long have the decimal places missing. So, for example, Sunday's lunch stop is the Crooked Billet which has the longitude and latitude listed as
"-101411|5155382"

Putting the decimal point in give a lat/long of 51.55382, -1.01411. You should be able to enter those coordinates into most any sat nav.

That's useful. Any advice for those who have a new TomTom XL2IQ with the simplified interface that won't support more than one waypoint? I'm borrowing an TomTom from Spokey but I think there is a way to load an itinerary on new TomToms.

I found this on the web. I obviously have NO idea whether it works or not, but it looks plausible.

Update: This looks better.
Ciao,

I got a new £300 TomTom Go1000 do you think you can use ITN files on it lol what a pile of Poo TomTom are taking the P155  now you would have thought they would produce a product that was backward compatible! But apart from that it’s a great Satnav though.

GG, I shall bring a laptop and leads if anybody gets stuck.
