Wheel centre roundels (with gratuitous pics!)?

Post by Racing Tortoise »

Anyone know the correct part number for the BMW roundels that fit in the centre caps for the OE alloys?

Mine have started to flake and look yellowy, so would like a new set. Of course it might be that they are a generic "one-size-fits-all" part but rather than tax Park Lane's parts department unduly, I thought I'd see if anyone knows the part number.

Cheers!

The part No. when I bought a set was B36.13.1.181.080 and cost me £13.16 inc. vat in 2007. The same part No. is shown under tricks and tips here:

BTW: I used a hairdryer on the reverse side to loosen up the glue as they are stuck on quite well. Make sure you remove all old adhesive with a degreaser (meths. turps or similar) and your ready to stick the new ones on :D The new ones are self adhesive.

Thanks!

I've got a range of screwdrivers and a bottle of meths, and I even found a working hairdryer in a long-undisturbed box when clearing out my storage room last weekend. So I should be fully prepped!

When I pressure washed my wheels, I removed the clear plastic cover from a couple of the roundels, I replaced it with clingfilm which I shrank over the roundels with a hairdryer, Regrettably I no longer have any other use of the hairdryer.

Racing,

If you ever want to know part numbers for the z1 use http://www.realoem.com/bmw/. It is the same as the bmw dealerships so I am told.

All done and dusted. Looks heaps better.

Didn't realise they were essentially heavy-duty stickers, rather than enamel badges!

Thanks. Sadly one of the rears has some light kerbing on the outer edge!

I had a major spring-cleaning effort on Saturday - cracked open the Swissvax kit and gave it a thorough polish and wax. Looking great (only annoyed that I forgot to clip the hood cover down properly before taking the pics!):
