cracked panel | fix it or change it ?

Post by Lord Taki »

Hey everyone,

so after my stupid accident on Christmas, after breaking again the gas flap last week, I noticed this morning the well known problem of a cracked panel.
To be honest, I always felt lucky about this situation since so far I wan't concerned :) Maybe the weather on the French Riviera...

But today is a sad day for Christine and the front right wing is cracked.

Did you get good result by fixing it or should I consider buying a new one?

Thank you for your feedback.

There are some very good tried and tested repair kits available for this problem, if it is just a crack, there is no detrimental effect if you repair it and its inexpensive, however after 20 years of affection and crack-free driving, perhaps Christine deserves a new €600 wing.

She already had a week ago a 2000€ cure at the Cannes BMW dealer and she's waiting for the 250€ gas flap :D

June is a very bad month for my bank account unfortunately.

Or maybe I should launch a Christine-O-thon with a blog.

Orrrrr.... give up your love of expensive wine for a month, that should exceed the cost of a new wing.

Believe it or not but I'm... afraid of wine.
I can't drink it, I can't touch a bottle, it is one of the most repulsive thing to me.

Maybe I'll wait a bit more, save up some money and do a full paintjob.
