Eddie's Z1
The ebay seller shouts "I BOUGHT THE CAR IN 1998 SO I KNOW A LOT WITH THE HISTORY..."
And then there are these old forum posts:

Some things are similar but perhaps it's not the same car?

I think the car in the old forum topics is now owned by forum member chrisS he was in it on the last Cotswolds tour. Doubt Eddie had two Z1's and both blackfelix wrote:The ebay seller shouts "I BOUGHT THE CAR IN 1998 SO I KNOW A LOT WITH THE HISTORY..."

Isnt ChrisS the chap who took part in the recon for the tour with Spokey and Tricky? The guy with the Atlas? Unless Chris sold the car, the number plate is different and poor spelling implies foreign ownership.Green Genie wrote: I think the car in the old forum topics is now owned by forum member chrisS he was in it on the last Cotswolds tour. Good evening, all. I can confirm that my car is the one previously described in full by Kilsh. I bought it from him in 2009, with a pretty illegible signature in the service book of Eddie I 98 and a VHS biographical video that includes Eddie driving a black Z1 in Italy. My car was first registered in Turin and was serviced there until 1993, after which the service stamp in Oct 1995 was from BMW in Bologna, which would be much more convenient for Modena if you happened to be working for Ferrari. By 1998, it was being serviced at a BMW specialist in Accrington.
The dates of the car's life in Bologna fit with Eddie Irvine's time at Ferrari.
I'm pleased to say my car is not the one currently for sale on eBay. I enjoy it too much.

I asked for the period of ownership for Eddie Irvine, no response.

It was on again last night 7th oct from a different seller claiming to have taken it in p/ex.
The seller has added new photos and the private plate has been changed it is now sporting a "H" plate. He had also attached the previous exact owners ebay wording details saying it had a lot of interest on ebay...it had then gained two bids now its off again? WTF How many Z1's did Eddie have

Ok, so It's unlikely the Z1 in question was an Eddie Irvine owned car and the seller did not reckon on loads of Z1 hacks raising questions etc, but how much extra intrest or value does it really add? I mean, Eddie Irvine was no Ayrton Senna! Now that would be a Z1 worth having in my opinion..
Ok, ok, an F1 driver is an F1 driver but still...

Re: Eddie's Z1
The vendor kindly responded with excerpts from the car's registration document.
Re: Eddie's Z1
The address doesn't match the postcode.
Re: Eddie's Z1
Well noticed, Fred's Dad, though it's only one digit out, BT23 7PZ. My postcode has also been changed to accommodate more addresses in the area.
Look on Google Streetview.
This address seems to have been comprehensively redeveloped since the document was issued. I can't imagine Eddie lives there now but it's convenient for his indoor sports centre!

Re: Eddie's Z1
This Z1 was being trawled through the classic car auction scene many years ago, I remember seeing it at a H&H auction at Duxford 10 plus years ago, its perceived speculative "value" was, not unreasonably, the EI association. It was "well used", rough is also a valid description, hopefully someone has subsequently lavished some tlc on it On the basis EI has been sentenced by an Italian Court will this depress the cars value ? Having dealt with the Italian legal system over many years, probably not.
Did Silvio Berlusconi ever own a Z1 ?

Mine also has an Italian libretto do servizio, and service stamps from a BMW dealer near Modena. It also has EI's signature in myhe service book!
