Z1 attendance at Silverstone Classic ZedFest 21st July
Z1 attendance at Silverstone Classic ZedFest 21st July
This is an oppurtunity to be involved in the biggest gathering of BMW Z cars in the UK, organised by the BMWCC.
Buying tickets before 31st March is on a BOGOF basis, ie: 2 entry tickets and a vehicle pass. This enables us to park infield with other BMW's on display and then partake in a parade lap of Silverstone (hopefully the F1 circuit) with Z3,Z4 and maybe some Z8 owners at around 6pm TBC.
Timings for meeting before entering Silverstone are in hand and will offer the chance to grab a bite, assemble and convoy into the circuit.
Lets hope we can have a good attendance and show the crowds why we love the Z1 so much.

bring the two, think of it both would have done silverstone F1 circuit
Oh well ... the pressure is on the Z1 community now !
There is an article in today motoring section of The Daily Telegraph ... "A date to mark in the diaries for fans of BMW's Z-series"... with a picture of a red Z1 with the caption "Highlight; BMW's Z1 will be the star of this years Silverstone Classic"
I have marked the event in my diary, with the Z1. I assume of course the parade lap will be in date order ... with the Z1s leading the show!!

There's an open invitation to Z1's to meet here if you fancy beforehand? Depending on timings, we can lay on bacon sarnies and other kosher nibbles before making our way to the circuit. Admittedly we are on the south side, but only 5 minutes away I guess.......
I am about to buy my tickets and will be there on Saturday in the Z1 and Sunday in the CSL - celebrating 40 years of the RHD injected cars, complete with my 'oxide free' banger!
Anyone who is interested is free to PM or email me on the usual. No hurt feelings if you all tell me to eff orf

A quick glance at the Silverstone Classic web site shows that there are 38 days to go before the Early Bird tickets are withdrawn.
The ticket required for us to display infield and take part in the parade lap is Saturday Early Bird CCM Package (2 x entry + 1 vehicle pass), purchased using the club discount code C12112. These are priced at £54.00 and incur a Royal Mail Special Delivery charge of £5.95 for signed delivery. Tickets/display pass will be dispatched 7 to 10 days before the event.
When you have a confirmed ticket purchase it would be helpful to pm "myredzed" (BMWCC Z Register Chairman) in order that the attendees list is kept updated.
The kind open invitation from Sam for Z1 owners to meet early Saturday morning is ideal for most of us, as a tea and pee stop before entering Silverstone. He has also offered buckets of water for the wheel fetish men. They know who they are !!!

Don't panic! The website clearly says that tickets printed with your own reg. number will be sent 7-10 days before the event.

Silverstone Classic web site states that there a 4 days to go before the withdrawal of the "Early Bird" ticket offer. Tickets will still be available after this date, but will cost a little more. Tickets booked for the Silverstone Classic ZedFest will be sent to the home delivery address some 7-10 days before the event.
I have been keeping an unofficial list of Z1's attending and we have reached 18, but like the old school report " I am sure we can do better"

'Yes you can', thanks for the reminder, just purchased mine for saturday.
Mr Baur, I was just talking to MrT about possibly staying the night in the area somewhere, having a few drinks and possibly going on a Cotswold cruise sunday morning for a few hours before heading home, whaddayareckon?? I know there is talk of a saturday breakfast meet, but wouldn't say no to a little more pedal action with you guys.
What is everyones weekend plans, is it one day, 2 days, going home early?

If he's got a Z1 is there not all sorts of strange rules on LHD vehicles not being allowed in OZ???Jet wrote:BB,

Re: Z1 attendance at Silverstone Classic ZedFest 21st July
Ah yes, they got over that by converting the vehicles to RHD, hence the Griffin RHD conversion, where most were shipped. But I should also mention, that he is in OZ, not the car, which is conveniently stored in Oxfordshire somewhere.Green Genie wrote:

Re: Z1 attendance at Silverstone Classic ZedFest 21st July
Just a quick update to the number of Z1 cars attending ZedFest in July.
With a little bit of help from "our man on the inside" of the BMWCC and this forum. The unofficial total number of cars has risen to 22 booked and paid, with another 2 still to be confirmed.
