I'm back - what's been happening?

Post by andyhallas »

Hello all,

I've been away for a good while but I'm back, not only on the forum but in the UK.

No big news from me. The Z is in fine fettle although I had to replace the heater unit which was a bit of a faff.

There's a new addition to the family in the shape of an Alpina B3 Biturbo (E92 shape) which is rather lovely thing to waft around in.

What have you lot been up to?

Hi Andy,

Welcome back to the UK, and also back into the Z1 scene. Much to talk about, but I notice that you have signed up for the ZedFest at Silverstone Classic in July. With your name in the frame the total number of Z1's confirmed as attending has risen to 12. I would stress that this figure is purely from this forum, and there may be many more others. With regard to ZedFest we are trying to arrange a meet prior to arrival at Silverstone and then move in convoy. I will confirm details much nearer the date.

One or two Z1's are heading down to Le Mans Classic and I am sure they will soon be in touch. BMWCC Festival at Gaydon last year was attended by 9 Z1's and hopefully we will all be back again this year.

Still involved with F1?

So you are back in blighty, spoke too soon. You must be pretty good at rustling up some Italian food, so celebratory drinks at your place? What brings you back, FI back in silverstone? No idea what an Alpina is, or an e92 B3, so pictures please ;-)

As usual with me, eyeing up some new wheels, not much changes there, but I will be at the ZF500 with Brigadier and crew and I can't wait.

Welcome back

Pic of the new beastie attached (hopefully).

Yes Jet - I make some mean pasta these days and I have a cellar (a.k.a. cupboard under the stairs) crammed with Sangiovese.

Working near Enstone now as Kimi's drinking buddy

Welcome back Andy.

We've all been in suspended animation so it will be nice to be all back together again. All we need now is Paul Finer and it will be as if nothing changed at all!
Best regards,

Sam Lever.

I was in Italy for the best part of 2 years RT.

Got back to the UK in November last year. Just emerged after the usual winter of work enforced hibernation.

Did you then miss that I wrote off my green Z1 and that it has since been resurrected Lazarus-like by Ivor?

Funny you should say that....I am returning to the UK probably early July.

I might try and make the Silverstone meeting but the Z1 is currently out of action due to overheating problems but I'm hoping to get it fixed soon.

Hope to see you all soon!

Cheers
