New Wheels
New Wheels
Happy New Year everyone!
Not exactly a Christmas present but I decided to get rid of the 18" Alpina replicas that were slowly becoming square and bought these 17" Keskin rims.
I bought them through http://www.rimstyle.com who were incredibly helpful and delivery was quick. I think my next task is to reduce the ride height a little.
Pictures taken on a very grey and foggy morning in Cambridge.
Looking forward to meeting up again in the coming year.
Cheers
Paul

Re: New Wheels
I like it Paul - very M3 CSL.....
17's look best IMHO. There, that should start of a healthy debate for the New Year! (I would remind everone that I run standard 16's before they shoot the messenger)

Re: New Wheels
Paul,
Good choice, they look small in comparison, shame the Alps had to go, you cant beat them, they really suited your car as they didnt look oversized like mine, and combined with the hardtop (which looks better on black and blue cars for some reason), the whole combo looked great when on the move.
What happened to the original wheels?

Re: New Wheels
I've still got the originals tucked away and the alpina replicas are no good to anybody really although I do have 2 almost new 18" tyres for sale if anyone is interested.
They do look smaller in comparison but I think lowering the car slightly might help to improve this. I think we discussed this before but do you have any recommendations for lowering kits?
Cheers

The Eibach E2020-140, but hard to find. There are other more readily available kits like Koni, Bilstein (Sam has/had these I think?) Eibach are more comfortable.
More likely to find them on Z1Z1.de or Ebay.de.
Re: New Wheels
The EIbach springs for the Z1 went out of production for a while and then it seems EIbach built some more in perhaps 2010. I bought a set in early 2011 - at the time Eibach in Germany said they had 5 sets in stock. Those are probably long gone but it might be worth a call to Eibach UK to see if they can check with Germany. But the Autosport show just started so they may be short-staffed until early next week.
Re: New Wheels
google translate sez "Chwilowo niedostępny" = "don't hold your breath". Or, more accurately, "currently not available".
Re: New Wheels
Thanks for the info Felix and Jet. I don't speak Polish but might get the wife to give them a ring to see what's going on.
I'll try Eibach UK too in a few days.
Cheers
