Z1 Article

Post by Pat Slade »

Hi All

My son has just informed me that there is an article on the Z1 in latest Practical Performance Car. Have not seen it yet so suggest a newsagent browse before purchase.
Assume none of us are involved or Jet would have spilled the beans!

5 pages, nice photos, good exposure, apparently you can buy a 325i engine for £300 and stick it in a Z1, as well as the gearbox, suspension and brakes, and they don't recommend driving with the doors down.
To the question "where are they?", the answer was "zroadster.net", yet they didn't bother to come here and ask.

Poorly researched and disappointing read.

Oh dear. Journos again. My guess is they read most of the stuff on another ill informed 'test' and regurgitated it in the article. That said, I've not read it, so can't comment.

At least the article didn't scare off potential Z1 enthusiasts by warning about cracking panels and water leaks. Jamal could have written something much more engaging than this.

Erm - because they are missing the point completely and have never ever driven on I'll wager!

Journalists can't afford to let the facts get in the way...

Are the photos in the article originals or from an archive?

I certainly would Chris, by asking you guys first if I am not sure. But I would include cracking panels and water leaks, as thats the definition of a buyers guide, same advice we give to anyone on here.

The pictures are from an image library called 4Star Classics, cant find the Z1, but recognise the logo, some nice originals http://www.flickr.com/photos/49426227@N04/
