Tough week ahead!
I just bought a Z1 yesterday. And I have to wait a WHOLE WEEK before collecting it next Saturday.
Cannot wait! Have been wanting one since first spotted one in 1989!

Congratulations!!
It's one purchase you'll NEVER regret!! I've had mine over 6 years now and still get butterflies when I see it/hear it/DRIVE it!
The wait will be well worth it.....I had to wait 3 weeks before I could pick mine up, but the day I got it I'll never forget! That blast 130 miles back home was just the best.....yet the buzz never wears off!
As said - let's see some pics and info when you pick it up (if you manage to find time to stop and take some! )
Best of luck,
Bruce.

do you actually like driving at all or are cars to you just a manifestation of some sort of pathological mother complex ?
Snap!
Bought a lovely little Dream Black car from Jazzbo (forum ID) on Sunday. I hope to pick up on Thursday. So another love affair begins....................
I too have been lusting after a Z1 for ever. I drove a dealer car at a launch event for the E36 coupe, and promised myself then that I would have one some day.
Roll on the weekend!

WOW!!
Nice 'Zorst and a HARD TOP too!!
If it's a day like today - you'll have a blast going home in it.....removing the hard top (carefully! ) then back out for a real blast - doors down, roof down, heaters on and a nice warm coat on!! Can't be beaten!
Just wait to see the look on the faces of all the other 'cabrio' owners with their roof's up just because it's cold!!
I had the roof down on the way to work this morning......I think it gets more attention in the Winter than in the Summer! Got to work with a real buzz running through me......GREAT drive, nice weather and lovely view.
You'll see what I mean when you pick it up.....cold, frosty sunny days are PERFECT for appreciating the Zed!
I'm excited for you.....
Regards,
Bruce.

By the way - couldn't help notice where you got it from (recognised the dealer sign in the bcakground! )
I had a quick look at the pics and noticed that you have an all leather interior! NICE!!
I take it that this IS all leather and not just a dark photo of the standard interior?? If it is all leather, you'll have a much better time trying to keep it looking good than the nubuck found in many (most) Z1 interiors!
I'm even more excited for you now! .........

Bruce.

Good sleuthwork!
Yes is all very exciting.
The seats have been retrimmed in plain black leather which looks heaps better than the nubuck/camouflage stuff that was in every other Z1 I saw.
Munich Legends also has a black Z1 for sale with a lower mileage (30k rather than 50k) but it lacked the hardtop, exhaust and retrim so I preferred this one. Even though ultimately I think the black is a little bit nicer than the green.

Thursday arrived!
Picked up my Z1 today.
Fantastic! The car is just a delight. Everything I wanted and more.
Today was a perfect day for it too. Only a 40 mile trip home, but I seem to have managed to do 120 miles today!
I will post a few pics when I can, but I want to have a bit of a clean up first.
BIG grin right now.

You lucky son of a gun! What a day for it!
I still have to wait (and they haven't yet confirmed that it will be ready on Saturday) so am getting quite antsy about the whole thing!
Certainly can't face a second w/end tooling around in my gf's Clio! (sold my last car a week ago today and suffering severe motoring withdrawal symptoms)

My God! I have my new toy and it's AWESOME! So much fun, makes a wicked and very loud (but cultured) noise, and it really isn't that slow. 4000rpm in second and it takes off like a scalded cat. Doesn't feel any slower than my old S3 225.
Took it down to Henley for lunch yesterday in convoy with a friend who has a very very lairy Elise and he insisted we did it without the roofs up. All I can say is thank heavens for German efficiency - the heater could melt Greenland.
Filling up with fuel is a performance though. Everyone gawps.
I did have a scare yesterday morning when the door refused to close. It would go up and the window would dance about for a bit and finally settle an inch open. I couldn't quite believe it had gone wrong on the first day! But then a thought struck me (car was coated in frost) and I loosened the clamps on the hardtop - problem solved. The seals had evidently contracted in the subzero temps and so the automatic window thought it was meeting an obstruction. Hardtop off now and problem solved. Will fiddle with seals and hopefully that will rectify the issue.
