Well, I have now finished messing around with the various bits of tarting up I wanted to do before I took any pictures, and here we are!

I am absolutely over the moon with the car. It is delightful, and has a character all of its own. I have a couple of questions I hoped you might be able to help with though:

I've never owned anything with canvass before - not even a tent. What's the best thing for cleaning and keeping the hood looking nice? I tend to use Zymol/Swissol products, and haven't looked at their range yet, but thought you guys might have a few tips?

The best soft top cleaning, colour restoration and water proofing products I have come across are made by Renovo. They also make an excellent scratch removing product for the plastic rear window. An internet search will point you in the right direction regarding the UK distributor.

Strongly recommended.

BMW's own soft top stuff is VERY good, including the 'toothpaste' for the rear screen.

I thought that car was nice last time I saw it.

Even the front indicators haven't faded!

One of the problems with plastic screens is yellowing.
Yellowing is worse with the use of cleaners containing ammonia.
T-cut has LOTS of ammonia.

For long term care use ammonia free cleaners and polishes for the plastic window.

The two best products I have found are the BMW 'toothpaste' for scratch removal. This is cheap stuff - little goes a loooong way.

For polishing, I use a spray polish developed for aircraft perspex. Plexus polish is brilliant for all plastics, and is used for aircraft the world over. Also good for helmet visors, and side screens on older style roadsters. It is not cheap, but it is good.

Thanks chaps. I'll try the Renovo stuff, as that is on its way and looks very good.
As a side issue, I see the post about T-Cut. I have been meaning to tackle light scratches on the glass of my CSL for a long time, but not really plucked up the courage. Does anyone have any experience of what might be good for this? I have a few ideas:
Jewellers' Rouge
Toothpaste
T-Cut
What I don't want though is something that is going to make a dull patch around where the scratch was.
There must be something surely????
Thanks as ever for ideas.....
Best regards,

Sam Lever.
